A little too straightforward. Basically telling the viewer "Heathcliff will be defeated and Aincrad will end", whether the duel details will be revealed in that episode or the one before.

From the title of the 14th episode it's obvious it will be the last of the Aincrad arc and the last 11 episodes will cover the Fairy Dance arc.

I think the 25th episode's ending will go like this. During Kirito and Asuna's emotional first time meeting in real world at the hospital, one of the theme songs' full version (probably Crossing Field) starts playing. While the song is playing, the scenes from volume 4's last chapter are shown until the episode ends.

IF SAO is going to have another cour, that's not a good ending since it's like implying it's a "happily ever after" ending. Although the vice versa could also be said if SAO only last for 25 episodes.

It's been confirmed to run for two-cour (ie around 25-26 episodes).

The anime will likely end with the whole gang going up against the newly reincarnated Aincrad (yes, there's a pun in there somewhere) to challenge it once again in its new form. Just like how it ended in the relevant novel. This won't really interfere with another season, but I'm not sure they'd get another season - do we have any data on sales yet?

By another cour I mean another season...........
And no, the kind of ending you mention won't interfere with another season.
Also I'm actually talking about this ending

As far back as I can remember we've always used to call 1-cour a length of 11-13 episodes, let's not start inventing new terminology here

About the ending, I was talking about the same, but looking back I see there was actually a bit more material in there. I guess if they cut out the post-hospital stuff like school life etc, it would have a more final feeling - that's what you're worried about, right? The "epilogue" of volume 4 was rather long... But the chances of getting another season these days are rather low so if they decide to make it a bit more wrapped up like that it can't really be helped I guess. I'm already very happy that it ran for 2-cour. Most adaptations these days don't get as much. Only regret is GGO being shafted, really.

At this point, a cour or a season is just the same(difference just between how many episodes each term has) this term is just to imply that "If SAO is going to get additional episodes other than the Drama CD" case. Besides, it's still too early to assume whether SAO will get another cour/season at this point seeing the anime hasn't even finished 1 arc yet.

I think it's pretty likely to get another run for GGO. It's pretty popular and despite what was said that kind of thing isn't really that rare. Anime companies nowadays are more likely to play it safe and run shorter seasons rather than investing in longer ones, but they're not hesitant at all to make sequels to things that sell well. Might take a while though.

A 2 hour movie would be good since Kirito log on in GGO only twice....

He spends a lot time for each log in though. It's two volumes. Logically it's twice as long as the Aincrad arc, and about the same as ALO. Actually, doesn't he only log onto ALO twice too? It's about the perfect size for a 12 episode season, assuming ALO will be the second half of this season.

But... much of it... were, thoughts, analyses and explanations... it could be cut.

Hmm... maybe. I guess you might say they're action scenes in slo-mo. I don't think much really happens in ALO either though, and apparently they're somehow expanding it to a dozen episodes.

About GGO, my reasons stated above were the same reasons... why I jump often while I read it... I end up scratching my head... about the tons of explanations... hehehe

It's not like Kirito just dives in to ALO right after the arc starts though. They could actually made ALO for the rest of the cour(not 12 episodes but 10 or less seeing that Aincrad arc ends at episode 14).

Likewise, Kirito doesn't dive into GGO until after a really long discussion with agent-guy (can't remember his name), as well as Sinon's whole introductory scenes. I don't see their structures as very different.

Indeed, in turn it makes me think if GGO is going to be adapted aswell it'll be on another season which will be combined with Mother's Rosario arc

I highly doubt there won't be another season. Judging from the increased sales in the light novels after the anime started, and the pre-order tracking so far, it looks like the anime is going to be a huge hit commercially.

Also, this scan confirms that Kirito proposes to Asuna in Ep10, so I guess we know how the episode will end: https://yande.re/post/show/224132/as..._art_online-ta

Yeah it will be great if Kirito proposes as shown at the end of ch16. The only way for ch16 to be included in ep10 if they make the duel between Kirito and Heathcliff short and skip ch14. If not then chapter 16 will not be included and Kirito will propose at ch15's end scene.

We'll find out in a couple of hours!!

That actually doesn't mean nor says anything about Kirito proposing to Asuna in episode 10. It just says they get married, but it's not like these magazins are coming every week, so what they print basically goes for the month. It's not like they don't print stuff early; Yui was introduced in a magazine scan before the series even started, and even talked about how she calls Kirito and Asuna mom and dad.

I certainly hope this is the case anyway. Because there's no way they're fitting chapter 16 with the duel and Kuradeel's incident.

EDIT: *SIGH* Actually I just really read that scan and saw what duckroll was talking about. Yes, it does say that the proposal happens this episode.

At this point our only hope to see chapter 16 animated is if they move the Kuradeel incident to a later date, but I don't see how that'll happen, and then I don't see how they'll properly lead into the proposal anyway.

And if they're rushing it this much, then there's no way we're seeing the fishing chapter. (for those who thought/hoped it would make it in the anime)
