Mio showing her characteristic silent fury on her sister. Yuuko always never disappoints with her going way over the top on her crusade against some mosquitoes. Plus this episode runs like a segment of the movie Tampopo. Awesome.

Am I one of the only few who liked the opening 'sketch' ? And the Mosquito moment with the constant slapping reminded me of a scene from Lucky Star.

You aren't the only one. It was epic. Just that the episode was kinda long so I forgot about it by the end

Are they ever going to reveal the name of Mio's sister, or is it something that hasn't been revealed in the manga?

Is there anyone beside me that find Mio's sister annoyed? I know she did it for the laugh but I just wanted to grab those cakes, throw them straight to her face and force them down her throat with the shogi piece

She does have a name. It's Yoshino.

Edit: I appear to have been beaten. Good show, sir.

I wouldn't like it if someone messes with my food either (hopefully the sister washes the shogi piece really well) but i don't really see what is the big deal about the strawberry. If all Mio wanted is the strawberry, shouldn't she just buy a box of strawberries instead of a cake?

I think Yuuko got more talent at being a martial artist than a stand up comic judging by her mosquito squashing moves. ( Those are really giant mosquitoes lol)

Well if you go by Yui (and later Mio's) reactions in K-on to getting their strawberrys eaten from their cakes, you would think it is the most heartbreaking thing you can do to a girl's sweets.

Question: Does some have currect factual news on how many episodes this show will have? Estimates guess 26 while ANN says 13 still. There was suppose to be a new OP soon, right?

The presence of a new OP alone indicates a second cour. Examples of one-cour shows with more than one OP are very rare. Perhaps the best indication comes from the DVDs (always the best place to look). There are 13 of them. One-cour shows don't have 13 DVDs.

Unless they're very sadistic.

Remember, ANN is still a secondary source at best.

Okay. My trouble is not knowing what the Japanese sites say for things like DVD numbers.

Anyone know much about the PSP game for this? I watched the trailer but I still couldn't work out what exactly it is. Looks partially like a VN though.

Three cheers for episode 9 btw - the episode was exceedingly funny for me. I was literally laughing out loud as I was watching it.

I agree about the mosquito sequence being very well done!
