Sorry to be THAT person who constantly rants....but it's because of this:

Bleach used to be my favorite series at one point. I loved looking forward to reading the chapters each week and seeing certain characters in action. Especially way back in the SS arc when the nakama did something and Rukia was kind of cool.

Nowadays, NO ONE is allowed to do anything except Ichigo. And maybe Kenny, Renji and assuming he recovers from what should've been his death, Byakuya. Bach will destroy all of them so, so, SO badly.

While "Whitey" ...was Ichigo's original Zanpaktou.

What I am more surprised is how Yhwach wasn't able to get his powers back from Ichigo when he was a kid, even though he was able to get it back from his mother.

One possible reason (following the example of a Shinigami impregnating a human three times) would be the hollow infected Shinigami part in Ichigo also corrupted the Quincy powers to the extent that it became an ally of the host (broke free of the original Yhwach's will). If that is the case, then the version of Yhwach inside Ichigo should have something more to teach Ichigo that would help him against the original version.

This makes no sense... why the hell other Quincies are not creating Zanpanktuos or some other kind of weapon?

And how exactly could part of Basch to become a zanpanktuo to begin with? And with same power as Ishin's on top of that!

It is probably because the hollow, the Quincy inside and the powers of Ichigo's dad somehow combined or fused. Remember that the aunt of ichigo's mom, insisted on pure quincy. That is probably the reason. Because of the Bach inside them. So, this means, that Ishida is different as the other quincy as well.
The bach inside ichigo is "corrupted"

The bach inside Ichigo is unique because Ichigo is a Shinigami/Quincy Hybrid, not to mention the possibility of his hollow mucking the technicalities up.

The other Quincy don't have a Shinigami half, therefore the part of Bach they carry around doesn't have a manifestation. Old Man Zangetsu is basically his Quincy Powers hijacking the Zanpakutou Spirit Conversation thing.

IIRC Tousen was the one to give it this name, and the only ones present at that time were Aizen and Gin.

So all the weird ass abilities not related to bows and arrows the shitritters have are created by the inner dracula? That's also one explanation for how they are more than just humans with powers now, and it's actually genetic...

Wow I haven't seen hackles up like this since the great Rukia or Orihime debate of 2008. Love your passion folks. It's been sorely lacking in this series for a long time!

That said, I've gotta agree with the majority on here - this revelation, as "surprising" as it was, is also retcon on a ridiculous level. Ichigo isn't just a shinigami, but also a fullbringer, a vizard, and a quincy? Come the f*ck on. I think we all know Kubo well enough by now to understand that there is never going to be a reasonable explanation for this. It's really not a matter of "having all the pieces of the puzzle", it's just terrible writing.

I figure there's some relation to it all, as in it's feasible that one who is a hollow/shinigami/fullbringer/vizard can become the others. There are influences of sorts that perpetuate certain outcomes, like dead humans becoming hollows, or being purified and perhaps becoming shinigami in SS. Quincies seem to be hereditary though. Ichigo is the guy experiencing it all, to what end I wonder (maybe something to do with the soul king?).
