This fkin sucks, 4chan.org is dead.I only checked out the /a/ section but, that loser moot took down the whole site. Someone should make a evil clone of him have it kill moot then continue running 4chan.org.

And will that someone also be kind enough to fund the site and foot the bill for the amount of bandwidth it used?

Made only one visit there, but to me it seemed like it had grown too big to be a free, one person supported site. Sadly, after a certain point the site has to become either a pay-site or close-down. In this case, the author *probably* chose the first mentioned.

On the main site, moot stated that they required $2,400USD to pay for bandwidth fees, upgrades and other needed maintances. Obviously the donations weren't that forthcoming.

Well alot of the 4channers have made there way to 5chan and now the site lags like ASS >_<. Mod team also quick to post up guidelines for the 4channers to follow, and try to drive home the point that 5chan is NOT 4chan.

I hope 5chan doesnt go down now due to excessive bandwidth use. It was such a nice site before it got the 50 mil 4channers on there >_<

the overflow has to go somewhere before it disperses. I think moot could have made a semi- sucessful paysite.

I think they should have elections on whose going to be the next Administrator... so if the previous admin is broke... maybe the new one will have more money and lots of new ideas... just wat we did on mj12 and relicnews... no wonder my previously owned website survived for 5 yrs now...

I agree that 4chan might be able to survive if he made it a pay site. For example only one page per category viewable by visitors and the others only for paying members. I mean it doesnt have to be overly much .. and i guess i would pay a few $$ for 4chan, since it was a GREAT page to find high quality pics to tinker with in photoshop...

I'm just glad that i saved a few hundered high quality pics that i liked...

And yeah, there is moeboard.net as well Worth to check out ^^

4chan isn't that HQ in term of picture, I've seen some Japanese/Korean boards that had bigger and better images
As for the paying, you don't know much Moot : he didn't want 4chan to become a paysite.

Yes, i do not much about him and his rules, but i think it would be actually better.
I mean he must not have charged alot but... a tad to keep the site alive...

Well, in 4chan it more depended on the poster, but some pics were really good O.o
( i found a 1550*3446 pixel 1 MB JPG there - if that isnt high quality then i do not know whats high quality for you )

It was a great source for sig images and wallpaper pics
and it was fun browsing it too..

if a site requires 2400$ to maintain maybe he should have gotten one of those dedicated servers with unlimited bandwidth. This way the bill is always constant and everyone knows how much is required to donated to keep it up. Begging for donations gets old after a while

4chan isn't a big loss. They'll be always a new place that pops up to post all the bloody hentai/lolicon/cute crap.

It isnt down it just loads really slow now since the 5chan server is taking on the 4chans old load. Hopefully people will start to pan out to help take the load off of 5chan.

Also I didnt know of this moeboard.net site... Imma have to check it out thanks for the tip ^__^

Does this mean you never looked at the rules?
It was linked in the rules as an example of the /c/ section
