Unlicensed
Under the series tab AnimeSuki has a long list of unlicensed amines. At least two of my favorites, (i.e. ones I re-watch) Mahoraba ~Heartful Days~ and Yokohama Kaidashi Kikou are there. Another, Denno Coil, I think is very good. There are probably many on that list that I know nothing about. Regardless of genre, which of them would you recommend?

Highest Recommendations:
Jojo's Bizarre Adventure One of the greatest action series of all time. Touch Baseball and romance. One of Adachi's two masterpieces, (the other is Cross Game which is licensed.) Touch was picked by Japanese mothers as the number one anime they would like their children to watch. Worth checking out: Ben-To Half-priced lunches are serious business. Dororon Enma-kun Filled with dirty jokes and the passion of a thousand burning suns. H2 is an Adachi work. It's not Touch or Cross Game, but the manga was still pretty good. Hyouka was really good. Amazing animation. Les Miserables Of course, it's Les Mis. Minami-ke and sequels. The average life of the three Minami sisters. Mirai Nikki The queen of Yandere. Remember that Yandere are misunderstood. Miyuki Don't know anything about it, except that it's by Adachi, so it's probably good. Moshidora Baseball + the principles of Drucker Management. Showa Monogatari Japan in the Showa Era. Sora no Manimani An astronomy club. Valkyria Chronicles Zero no Tsukaima

I'm not sure of Sayonara, Zetsubou-Sensei counts, Media Blasters bought the rights but didn't do much with them, probably due to the amount of Japanese pop culture needed to understand most of the jokes.
Del Ray managed to get 14 volumes of the Manga released. Shaft's other crazy schoolgirl anime Maria Holic managed to be licenced OK. |
