Soooooo....... Hoenheim is voiced by Unshou Ishizuka and NOT Iemasa Kayumi. This is interesting!

Oh so no narrator voice for Hohenheim? Good to hear. And Unshou Ishizuka eh? That's an interesting choice... veteran seiyuu and all. Can't wait to hear what he sounds like as Hohenheim.

Interesting.

Although to be honest, I did really like the VA from the first series. Even though the character is going to be somewhat different in Brotherhood, I still think he could've fit the part. We'll see. I've gotten used to the change in Roy's voice, even though I still really like the first VA better. Most of the other changes haven't been that drastic.

As displeased as I was with it initially, I've really warmed up to Shinchiro Miki's Roy now.

The change that actually bugs me the most now is probably Riza. She shouldn't sound THAT soft, IMO. She'll have a chance to win me over this sunday if her performance does her epic manga scenes justice.

Yeah, I've kept thinking that Riza's new voice isn't cold and hard enough. I liked her old seiyu better - she fit the character better. I hope she doesn't sound like some whiny little girl in tomorrow's ep.

But Miki's Roy - I think it's quite excellent. I can't wait for some more intense scenes for him to shine in.

After watching episode 19... nope, Michiko Neya is still the better Riza by miles. Fumiko Orikasa is way too high pitched, even her screams.

That's great to hear! I'd been worrying about that cause I wouldn't have liked Iemasa on him.

Usnhou Ishizuka is spot on perfect for Hoenheim.

Have to agree. Generally, I don't really agree with the softer voices the second series gives to the ladies.

The one and only.

As for KugiRie, yeah, she's not best-known for her young-boy roles.

Not best known, but she's done quite a few. I actually like her Al and in general much prefer her boy roles to her grating tsundere drek.

Orikasa hasn't been doing a bad job. I just don't think that her voice "fits" the character of Riza.... although it does make her badassery stand out all the more considering her soft voice, I guess. Maybe that's what they were going for? :/

I have to say, Megumi Takamoto and Shinichiro Miki have been excellent as Winry and Roy, though. (IMO, Miki is perfect for Roy. Toru Ohkawa was good too, although I don't think his version of Roy fits the more serious, calculating version of Roy in the manga... roy was just a bit more easy-going in the first anime, partially bvecause they probably had no idea what they wanted to do with him)

Personally, Riza is the type of character that would have a soft voice. At least that's the type of voice i have in my head when reading the manga, and i find that Orikasa fits the role perfectly.
