Wasn't it stated in COMO (didn't read Boku-Tachi's translations yet) that Al's personality was that of Sousuke had he been raised in a different way?

Al obviously mimicks his pilots and draws conclusions from Sousuke's behavorial pattern and what he can get from electronic data (news reports, Internet, etc), but I don't know what Bunny Murauta inserted in Al's OS protocols to have him behave thusly. Maybe he wrote an instability variable or something like that to have him break away from the unemotional, robotic personality an AS' AI would have.

...Although I don't mind having a whacky AS like that along, but then again, I'm no Sousuke Sagara so I might have more patience for Al than he would.
