Spoiler for spoilers volume 13:

- Kanon is impressed by Miyuki's icicle making skills, which surpass even Tatsuya's expectations, and she replies gracefully like a yamato nadeshiko but then spoils it by talking about how she wanted to be over quickly so she could return to her beloved Onii-sama for cuddles and snuggle time (exaggerating, but you get the idea)
- Apparently Tatsuya helped somehow but it isn't clear exactly how, but Kanon is feeling awkward by how intimate they are, giving and taking praise for each other like the true bro con sis con pair they are (exaggerating again)

I think you misunderstood something.

She's saying that dating Miyuki (Tatsuya's sister) is unproductive, because it's a magicians duty is to leave healthy babies.

Basically she is having a misunderstanding, where she believes that the Shiba siblings are actually dating each other...

Of course ... I doubt that the societies opinion is actually going to stop Miyuki... but we will see in the future volumes, what kind of ending the author has in mind

It's not shipper goggles! I misread it. I thought Kasumi was talking about her sister.
I mean, when it comes to sisters, Kasumi usually talks about just one.
When it comes to talking about which sister Tatsuya shouldn't make babies with, it's usually just the one.

It's an honest mistake.

If anything I'd figure Izumi should be the one to wreck the Miyuki ship, since she wants Miyuki for herself!

I think Kasumi means dating Miyuki. Not Mayumi.

As I've said several times, the only way for Mayumi to be with Tatsuya, is as a peace offering from the Saegusa clan, and only if Miyuki and Maya approves, both of which are unlikely possibilities.

She sure has a lot to say on the subject. Kasumi should state who Tatsuya can make babies with.

And besides i would love to see an tatsuya x mayumi arrangement between the clans that will flip kasumi and make izumi eternally happy. But seeing in this spoilerws that mayumi still remains a regular more or less in the story i tent to hope for some shipping

if Seagusa do that, I think Maya will approve that, and Miyuki will approve in surface, She will think it is ok if Tatsuya married with some one because maried cannot stoping Her to over clingy to Tatsuya.

But I think Koichi will offer Kasumi/Isumi instead Mayumi

imagine if sudenly Koichi / MAyumi ask Kasumi to seduce or maried Tatsuya

I'm guessing it's like that old Pokemon movie with Mewtwo - Yotsuba wanted to create a perfect magician weapon, and they succeeded. Material Burst is something that could end countries at a whim, similar to what the Yotsuba did to the Dahan empire with only 30 magicians. Tatsuya is also cold and calculating, logical above all in terms of cost-benefit analysis and human enough to be shackled (via Miyuki).

The "Yotsuba's sin" was creating something that could end the world - like that D&D adage "Don't call up what you can't put down", except in this case the Yotsuba was still human enough to look after their own even if he turned out to be a monster. Doubly so when they were the ones that made Tatsuya this way.

I did wonder why the Yotsuba, being the power/efficiency-crazy elitists that they're made out to be among the 10MC, care so much about "not being able to do 'true' magic" when they want power first and foremost. I'm guessing that's only the surface excuse to lower-placed people and outsiders to justify Tatsuya's presence as a Guardian around Miyuki, and ripping him of his Yotsuba status. Given that the Yotsuba works around spying and assassination (eg Kuroba family) to the point they don't even name themselves as Yotsuba unless they're the Family head or ex-head, it's not impossible for them to have such a convoluted plan.

In other news, Chinese translations of Vol13 have started, and the new 9SC rules have been translated.

It could be that they tried to create everything they ever wanted. The perfect heir. The perfect Yotsuba....and they succeeded.

Only he was too perfect. Tatsuya was everything they ever wanted...but he was too much of it. To the point where he became more liability than a blessing in his old state...perhaps he even caused some horrible event in the family...so they had to do something about him.

Barrier Magic can be penetrated so long as the kinetic energy of the object that comes in contact with it is stronger than the interference strength of the barrier magic being invoked.
