Your information regarding Aria, Kirarin Revolution, Princess Princess
and Strawberry Panic looks quite very interesting.

But I dislike yuri so i'm not looking forward to Strawberry Panic.

I will have a go for Kirarin Revolution and Princess Princess

Happy New Year!

More anime got announced:

====================

今日の5の2
Kyo no Gononi

Broadcast: Unknown

Its based on a manga thats serialized in the seinen(young men's) manga magazine Bessatsu Young Magazine.
For now there is 1 volume released of this manga, here is the cover:

Genre: Seinen

====================

スパイダー・ライダース

Broadcast: Unknown

For now I have no idea what this is about or what its based on.

I'll post info once I find out.

====================

Bessatsu Young Magazine is not Young Magazine.

There are three manga magazines from Kodansha with the word "Young" in it:

Young Magazine
Young Magazine Uppers
Bessatsu Young Magazine

Kyo no Gononi; I can't find info about this, could it have ended and its only one volume? (I read somewhere that it got popular and some chapters were serialized in the weekly magazine Young Magazine).

Some info about Kyo no Gononi (Today in Class 5-2), from Manganews:

Quote:
This one-volume manga by Sakuraba Koharu portrays the fifth grade in a... different light. The chapters ran in Young Magazine, a relatively small publication, and were then released in volume form, when it gained some cult following.

What makes this manga particularly unique is not it's characters, which represent fairly run-of-the-mill manga personalities like those found in FLCL, Azumanga, and even Sister Princess--which should give you a pretty good idea of what does make this manga interesting: the perfect blend of school humor, plain ridiculousness, and raging sexual innuendo.

Ah, fifth grade like you wish you remembered it!
Genre: Seinen, Comedy

The one volume manga got scanlated by Jinmen Juushin group (the manga is not licensed), and it can be found here: http://jinmen.pyoko.org/projects.php...y_in_Class_5-2

Just finished reading Kyo no Gononi. It's like a slightly more perverted mutation of Azumanga Daioh and Ichigo Mashimaro, or something like that. Slice-of-life, basically. The characters are mostly archetypical, but they're not annoyingly so. It has my approval.

Ok, my two Euro cents on two series:

Air Gear: While the pics look good, an anime about inline skating sounds really boring...

Souta-kun Akihabara Funtouki: Looks nice, and it's from the same magazine which Pani Poni Dash appeared in, which is certainly promising

Air Gear isn't so much about skating as it is about..... scaling buildings, jumping across rooftops, racing on top of a speeding train, beating people up, all whilst on these powered rollerblades of doom.

.hack is experiencing a revival of sorts... ^_^;;

G.U. looks to be an action series, judging from the game trailers. I'm really looking forward to it, that I am. :>

After thinking the Winter/early Spring new releases were going to disapoint me very much, I am pleasently surprised to see a few more shows that I did not know about that have a lot of potential.

Air Gear
.hack // GU
Kiba
Yumetsukai
Kyo no Gonai

Are all shows whose release surprised me, and make me believe this Winter's schedule might not be so sparse after all.

A little late (or more like very late)

From AnimeNation:

Quote:
New Fullmetal Alchemist Anime Announced

The new DVD will include the "State Alchemist Corps vs Seven Great Homunculus" short film originally screened exclusively at the Universal Studios Japan amusement park, along with three new OVAs. One of the new shorts will be a "wrap party" featuring super deformed Fullmetal Alchemist characters celebrating the end of filming the Fullmetal Alchemist: Conqueror of Shambala motion picture.

Given the original material, I can't wait to see how the Yumetsukai anime will be done. I wonder if the the staff will tone down some of the stuff from the manga in the adaptation.

I'm looking forward to the Kyo no Gononi anime, too. Azumanga-like comedies (only a little more ecchi) are always fun to watch
