Looks like the Ranka Lee Single just came out. It's pretty good, there are a total of 6 tracks, in which 2 are instrumental.
ED2 Nekko Nikki is in there, it's a nice little song. The other songs include "Ai Oboete Imasuka" and "Watashi no Kare wa Pilot" are really good renditions of the original. The 1st track "Seikan Hikou" reminds me a song Maya Sakamoto sings for CLAMP. Megumi Nakajima is starting to remind me more and more of YUI. I've listened to the Single for about 3-4x already, pretty relaxing music a different feel than May'n's energetic and emotional songs. This is definitely must buy, it's a very good value for just a Single.. "Seikan Hikou" - 7/10, nice groove, good lounge song "Nekko Nikki" - 9/10, very relaxing song, a good morning wake-up song "Ai Oboete Imasuka" - 7.8/10, nostalgic feel along with a refreshing touch "Watashi no Kare wa Pilot" - 6/10, I didn't like the arrangement of this version, didn't capture the fun feel of the original. When she says "Q, Q, Q, Q" just didn't have the same cuteness of the original.. |

In short Tabris has 1337 skillz and took the densha into or across town and then hoofed it to Akihabara in Japan.
The rest of us are stuck here in the states or other places not Japan. |

This could be old news to most of you but I realized Nakabayashi Mei (or May) originally was a R&B singer before she became Sheryl as I was scrolling down my playlist and happen to find songs from her coincidently. She's done Love Getchu ED song which was her 3rd single. http://wiki.theppn.org/Nakabayashi_May

I'm merely seething with envy at how Tabris got that picture. And plotting.

Wow if not just being a fan wants you to get this Single then watching Ep 12 will definitely get you to get it.
It was brilliant display of music and brilliant marketing. Fantastic. |

I loved Nekko Nikki most when I first heard the single, mostly because of the lovely ED impression it gave. But after episode 12, Seikan Hikou, became my top favourite Frontier song. It was catchy, I liked it just not as much, but after seeing Ranka 'live', I was totally captured by it.

Probably going to top out at around 125-130k, has dropped into the low twenties this week. Quote:
Also it got massive promotion in episode 12 so I'll be amazed if sales aren't high especially since it has covers of two of the most popular songs in the Macross franchise on it. |

Okay I never watched a Macross series before but is this integration of music a normal thing? Cuz its pretty annoying IMO. I thought this about about space and robots and shit blowing up, but its also about teen pop stars and music videos? WTF? It just feels so out of place. Anime has been disappointing me more and more lately...

Maybe you need to go back to Gundam for your Mecha fix. I also hear Code Geass is avoiding the music thing, although the love story and school comedy scenes may also be annoying to one looking for 'space and robots and shit blowing up'. No space battles in that one. Incidentally, the Deculture Episode had all of those elements which annoyed you. What in heaven possessed you to start the series in the first place, given all the things you've complained about were in the VERY FIRST EPISODE? Did you think things would suddenly change like in Naruto, or DBZ? |
