Lol medakaxkumagawa fans pretty much destroyed with this chapter since it was pretty obious only one medaka wants is zenkichi and zenkichi alone and i am also happy that zenkichi isnt going with medaka but i also think that will change and zenkichi wont leave medaka alone , for some reason i think seperating medaka and zenkichi will have bad results but this may show us what happened in middle school .

Spoiler:
Akune's words have finally come to be(again). I didn't think I could possibly like/respect Zenkichi any more as a character. I was wrong. You truly have grown into being yourself in a way that people can relate to. Kudos. Yeah, ok. We all know it's not going to last forever, but hey, moment by moment right? Enjoy.

We could honestly think of a number of parallels for...any two characters. I'll just throw in Akune and Oudo; arrogant suitors of Medaka who look down on others(Akune at least initially) and achieve popularity in different ways. Oudo forcibly makes people bow down, while Akune has legitimately earned affection as a gentlemanly figure(most of the time).
Kumagawa and Naze are both defined by suffering and a negative attitude, by while Kumagawa considers it an inevitability, Naze uses suffering more as a way to get more out of life. Last edited by DawnEmperor; 2013-03-15 at 11:49. |

The parallels that orange brought up were obviously meant to be identified in the story, because they're always used in a context of contrast by either the author, narrators or the characters. That one example you gave, well, not so much. I doubt Nishio even recognized it himself, or would care to.
