This will be pretty disappointing. I'm okay with Tohka being the main love interest but seeing the other girls shafted would be a let down. Still hoping for a Harem ending. Don't mind Tohka being the obvious main love interest of the harem.

The Tohka end is almost guaranteed; she just “died” one volume ago so having her separated from Shidou or dying for real would be redundant. Tachibana is a better writer than that. And didn’t Shidou confess his feelings to her in volume 20? She loves him and he loves her, so it makes no sense for them not to get together if they don’t do the aforementioned redundant dying/seperation.
The only real question is if it’s going to be a Tohka-only ending or a harem ending.

I see. Thank you for the answers. Honestly, this is probably the main reason why I avoid JP novels with harems (second being moron MCs). Authors rarely have the guts to go full harem route in HAREM novels. Spending volumes to introduce other heroines who often are much more interesting and better written than the first heroine, keep teasing with them for dozens of volumes, just to drop everything for the first one or to make an open ending....

Yes it is. The author confirmed both on twitter and in the previous book’s afterword that this is the last Date A Live novel.
There is still Encore 10, as well as Date A Bullet, the delayed visual novel - Ren Dystopia, and the anime for both Date A Bullet and Date A Live IV, but this book, V22, is definitely the last one. ...unless you meant that how it ends isn’t confirmed yet, in which case, yes, you’re right. It could be a Tohka End, or a Harem End, or anything else right now - we just don’t know.

There’s a DAL crossover in Overlord’s Mass for the Dead mobile game coming on the 16th.
