Transformers: Prime
This series will be hitting the West first - but, in the fullness of time, may well follow another TF series across the Pacific once enough episodes for TakaraTomy's consumption are set for eating...
Transformers: Prime is an in-development series, which will air in the US on The Hub in late 2010. (Dunno yet who's gonna air it here in Canada.) As you can see, there'll be an adorable pony some dog thing a very Bayformer-like Bumblebee in it. Oh, and Jeffrey Combs will be voiding Ratchet! Yayness.

I enjoy the movie designs but they are really over exposed. I'm really tired of looking at the same old Camero Bumblebee over and over again. I hope this is not true or not the final design. I want some fresh designs...

“Transformers toys, for example, can't air within or adjacent to the "Transformers" show due to government restrictions. The same goes for other Hasbro-branded programs that also have products to advertise at retail.” |

Probably due to the show itself being taken to be a 23 minute commercial for the products. Plus the government bureaucracies have to get their regs in there to protect little kids from the "evils of big corporate capitalism", because otherwise there'd be little to justify their existence...

This is stupid, toys are meant to be played and as such they are aimed at kids. If this was say the deliberate junk food advertising, it would be understandable. Not to mean I don't find that any less of a idiotic moral panic since you can get a kid to grow out of Maccas phase by giving them 'le gasp' healthy, tasty food. The worse here, is that you waste your money on giving them something to enjoy. And keep in mind, you have the damn money. So kiddies, want Optimus Prime? Work for it!! What happened to the good old days? |

A little educated guess here, but the guys in charge of the Transformers universe fiction will probably classify this show's universe with the "Tyran Cluster"(aka cluster of "TF universes" where the TFs are all bayformer-esque) in the Transformers multiverse.

Hopefully there will be more info at BotCon this weekend.
Also, after reading the also-recently-released Exodus novel, I'd be very surprised if they weren't trying to set the context for this show in that book (and in the WfC game)...

Okay, so:
There's a big statue of the new Optimus Prime at this year's SDCC. Also, there's gonna be a Masterpiece Rodimus Convoy, YEAH! (I'd probably be the only one posing him alongside Figma Rin, though...)

Still, assuming they do give Megatron some other Decepticons to work off of, the castings of Cullen and Welker (to voice Megatron?) have me interested...
