Everyone suuurreee likes Rick's bread, they spent the whole episode praising the bread which for some reason was ticking me off a bit.
If only the NPC in the game liked my bread like in this episode... (may be due to the fact I added salt to the bread since it was very common) Ah at least it was nice to hear the game music in the anime. I am little bit bothered how they started the anime compare to the game which hopefully will come up later on.

wtf did I just watch? XD
Ok, as expected from Tony, chara designs are very lovely, and it's overall quite beautiful, but... story f00king where? While Yakitate Japan is about *making* bread, this is about *selling* bread. Indeed, I realised that the whole series is one big bread advertisement, paid for by Japan's bakery guild to make bread more popular in japan (as it's not very popular there) and boost sales! Look, there where have cute girls selling bread! Look hopw everyone wants to eat bread, standing in long lines to get it! Look how everyone in town is gladly buying bread from the girl who's bringing it around! Even the priest is eating bread! Then we have the obligatory fluffy animal, and look, even the fluffy animal eats bread! Then we have a grumpy elf, and he's only grumpy because he doesn't eat bread. His hot sister is cheerful, because she eats bread! Eat bread and be happy, or don't eat bread and be grumpy, it's as simple as that! I'll continue watching this bread advertisement just because of Tony's great art and hope that something actually happens. Please, I don't want a second Campanella, ok? Also, this remionded me somewhat of the German kid series "Bernd das Brot" (Bernd the Bread): Spoiler for "Bernd das Brot" clips (english subs):

Erm. Seriously what kind of drugs are they putting in those bread to make those people THAT happy? Just from bread? Where's the meat?
What's with all the girls going in the preview? Oh yea, they definitely want some meat.

Hmmm...I'm not sure about (I only watched the first two episodes of this one), but I wish the second half of Shining Hearts anime will be full of typical J-RPG elements with some bread moments.

This show gives people diabetes. There are no negative emotions with people at all. Bread saves the day when there's trouble.
Seriously the only thing missing from the show is But damn, the girls are cute. So far I favor the sister, she's sweeter than pan.

Well there is no harm in spreading happiness, and in this show its done via bread-selling! The ED theme in particular spread much happiness and joy to me!
That aside, its good that there will be a proper plot starting from the next episode, as there is a limit to how much joy can be given out through bread, no? |

In anime where some laws from real life are kept, storm is a formidable foe. To people who depend on vegetables and fruits to survive, storm can bring devastating consequences. Didn't you see people struggling and working together to protect those apple trees? Besides that, I'm thinking those elves had other type of ''storm'' in mind.
