This season looks bleak. I'm hoping for a timewarp to spring so we can have Shingeki no Kyojin but there is still a number of things I want to watch this season.

Chihayafuru 2 - Thank God for this sequel. It's technically the only thing I'm excited about this season.
Tamako Market - I did get a bit letdown once the real premise was shown (not that I hate Yuri) but KyonAni = automatic watch.
Minami Ke 4 - feel is doing this so I wanna see how they'll do.
Sasami-san - SHAFT hasn't done any new work for a while so I'm quite excited for this.

I'm usually pretty optimistic every season but when you only have 4 things (2 actually) to be excited about, it's not really that exciting.

Let's see...

Savanna Game gives me Battle Royale and Code:REVISE vibes (with a twist, naturally), so I may have a look at it. I watched the first series of Boku wa Tomodachi ga Sukunai, so I suppose the 2nd series is a must . The art style of Tamako Market seems to have me drawn in for now (I'm a sucker for the K-On style art it seems ), but nothing else stands out for me so far.

I'm intrigued by what Love Live! is suggesting (and I quite like some of the music that has emanated from that particular 'series'), so that's another one that may go on the list.

I'll probably start off with no real knowledge about new shows and end up falling in love with 3 or 4 like usual lol.

Not a lot looks promising to be honest:

Definitely Watch:

Maoyuu: I'm a huge fan of Spice and Wolf, so this is a must see. Hopefully, it doesn't disappoint.

Hetaila: Sue me, I love this series as well. It's dumb as hell, but makes me laugh.

Maybe:

Tamako Market: the older I get, the more I like slice of life series.

Nekomonogaratari: I'll probaly watch at least the first episode. I watched the others.

Surprised that there is only one work in the process by J.C. Staff. Though not my favorite studio, their anime is at least good as time filler shows, if not better. I guess they are taking the Index movie seriously.

I'll definitely watch the sequals, such as Chiharafuyu and Minami-ke and Kizumonogatari, others not getting much attention from me yet.

Thankfully this next season seems to be pretty light for me unlike the previous one. Aside from the shows carrying on from the previous season I see myself adding only a few to the list.

For the must watch there's Tamako Market obviously and Puchimasu but that's about it. I'll probably check out Vividred Operation as well and then wait for the Index movie and Kizu/Nekomonogatari but I'm already expecting long waits for those.

On another note, does anyone have a list of all the five minute shorts (curious if Kotura-san is one)?

Wow. I have literally never had a season, no matter how bleak it looked, lack even a single show that I sparked my interest.

Until now.

After what was possibly the strongest season in years (this past fall), it's especially jarring to see nothing at all remotely interesting for the winter.

Edit: Hopefully some of the fall shows are continuing on into the winter. Anyone know if Tempest, Psycho Pass, and Notes are extending through the winter season?

It feels like years since they've been updated, btw.

Saki Achiga-hen, Chihayafuru, and Minami-ke are the sure picks on my side, aside from anything else I'm already watching from the previous season.

As for anything else, Sasami-san@Ganbaranai and, maybe, Tamako Market will be the only shows I will be watching without any prior prompting. But I'll be keeping my eyes peeled for any sleeper hits that come up midseason.

EDIT:

If Nekomonogatari is coming out too, that's another sure in.

Sasami-san@Ganbaranai for sure, since it's SHAFT. I don't really like the artstyle they chose to use for the Maoyuu Maou Yuusha anime, plus the manga is already pretty far ahead so unless the anime is vastly superior to the manga I don't see a reason to watch it.

Savannah Game isn't actually airing next season is it?

Expect Saki, Minami-ke, Vividred Operation, to be as good as their predecessors.

Osaka Okan, Roman, Tamako Market, Amnesia, Koutoro-san look interesting.
