With previous releases no files have been uploaded until the standard release has hit stores. It's true that the Limited Edition comes out when the movie hits theatres but those are bought either by collectors that won't post the files on line or by people who will sell them in the auction market. So don't expect those files to pop up before the end of February. |

We still have 16 episodes left to see if we find one.
The Japanese wikipedia page on Yamato 2199 suggests that the show will start airing on April 7th at 5pm on something like 27 TV stations (various MBS and TBS stations throughout Japan). The Story page for Episode 14 updated with some pictures finally. http://yamato2199.net/story/story_14.html Also some Pixiv images, some for Valentine's Day. http://www.pixiv.net/member_illust.p...st_id=33348055 http://www.pixiv.net/member_illust.p...st_id=33315142 http://www.pixiv.net/member_illust.p...st_id=33304052 http://www.pixiv.net/member_illust.p...st_id=33263504 http://www.pixiv.net/member_illust.p...st_id=33277663 http://www.pixiv.net/member_illust.p...st_id=33249941 http://www.pixiv.net/member_illust.p...st_id=33146750 There are many others and as Valentine's Day approaches more come up every day. Dommel's wife is also starting to get some sexy pictures as well.

Hey, just started watching the series a few days ago and I've really grown to like it. As someone who really liked Mobile Suit Gundam 0079 and the associated One Year War media, this is really what I want out of a Science Fantasy War Story (Gundam having become way too full of itself over the past several decades to me for the most part). It has the right mixture of great art, interesting characters, creative concepts and solid worldbuilding.
One of the things that strikes me, seeing a lot of reviews of this series, is they talk about it being pretty much a straight adaptation of the original. Now I've been sort of skimming the original series as I've been watching this show (It's... not exactly my cup of tea), and I notice that while in broad strokes it mirrors the progression of the show and some scenarios are taken directly from episodes, the way everything is portrayed, tonally and structurally, is pretty radically different. It's kind of what Evanelion 2.0 was to its respective episodes from NGE. |

Also, to go back to something I saw from several pages ago; Space Fighters are total rule of cool honestly; they wouldn't be practical in actual space combat. For one the entire aerodynamicism of planes is pointless in space, so you'd be better off building Space Fast Attack Craft. But even then, all the FACs really are are missile buses, and in space missiles can fit that role perfectly fine, without having to worry about the costs for fuel and upkeep of fighter vessels.

The fighters in Yamato are intended for multi-mission roles as we saw examples of the recon plane and Cosmo-Zero being used both in space and on Mars & Earth. So for a multi-mission combat unit it does make sense. Squadrons of them being used as combat platforms during a battle (assuming they are fast enough and have proper ECM to avoid being hit by larger vessels) in quantity. Even with long range energy weapons that move near light speed, you can only hit so many targets at once, and a fast one to two man fighter capable of extreme-Delta-V maneuvers would be excellent in close combat I would think.
