So all the people asking for Kalafina for the first OP cause the one we got didn't fit the mood now get their wish? I think it might work even better this way: the first half didn't really give us much in the way of s**t hitting the fan.

I hope the Kalafina OP is something akin to the Madoka ED. You know, adequately dark and gloomy, unlike the first season's OP, which was a little too warm and inviting.

I found the first season's OP to be dramatically ironic. Like Madoka's OP.

I think what they did was make an intentionally bad OP so that we'd miss Kalafina even more and would be even happier when they came back. It was their way of reminding us that Kalafina is greatest and no one could possibly replace them.

I'm not that big of a fan of the OP/ED of Fate. I do like Kalafina more and they sell more, lol.

I personally loved Oath Sign and Memoria - they oozed class and conveyed the tragic feel which the series must end on. Or maybe I'm just a sucker for ballads. I feel like crying whenever I listen to Memoria, thinking of what must eventually happen to my favourite characters, especially Irisviel. It's made even more tragic by what happens to her child in Unlimited Blade Works. Even the manipulative Tokiomi is really likeable, especially as he has more than a passing resemblance to Rin, and seems to have brought her up really well. And then I think of how Iskandar must eventually lose... "Memoria" just sets me up for a very heartbreaking ending. The new ending theme is also really nice, but doesn't pull at the heartstrings as much as Memoria did. May be a good thing, otherwise it'd be harder to hold back those tears at the end.
