Shirley
For those that loved Emma, i reccomend Shirley, a collection of three stories by Mori-sensei. The fisrt being the best by far, following the daily life of Shirly, a 13 year old maid as she enters a new house. The story is softer than Emma and a lot more easy going. I really wish that Mori would go back to it and do a volume or two devoted to Shirley cause she's just so damned cute!! |

Wasn't sure if links were allowed
If you're in the UK or Europe it's probably cheaper to buy from THe Book Depository than from Amazon |

In this case it's a few pence cheaper if I purchase from Amazon UK but that's because I buy most of my manga from Amazon and therefore can get free shipping (because I wait until I have over £15 worth before I order).
Just received notification that the volume was shipped this morning so I shall enjoy reading it again (read it before when it was scanned). Good timing since I just finished reading the last volume of Emma. Like you, I would love to see more of the Shirley stories. |

I don't really like Amazon to be honest, i've found i get my manga cheaper and quicker from the book depository, and they have a lot of titles that Amazon don't. Though i just found out that the volume of manga i really want isn't available *sighs* i need Utena vol05!!
I wish CMX had kept the Emma covers on Shirley, the glosy cover dosen't really set the art off properly, and urgh the font they choose for the title Do you know if they're going to release, or even iof they licensed the Emma short stories and the Emma Guide Book?? The guide book has a cross over chapter with Emma and Shirley. |

I received this as a gift last Christmases, because my friend knew I was a fan of Kaoru Mori art work. Too bad the art wasn't exactly as good as Emma's but I did like the stories in the volume. At the time I thought that even with her saying that she will return to do more with Shirley someday, that this was the end of it. Thankfully I was wrong, because two new instalments of Shirley will be published in Fellows! (the same magazine that publishes Mori other current work, Otoyomegatari) so that means that another volume is out on its way. Honestly, anything that has more of Mori artwork is good in my book. (Funny thing is I actually just picked up the volume today for no reason and just checked ANN for anything new because of the remark at the end.) Her entry
