Honestly, if you're gonna buy Haruhi at this point you may as well wait for the R1 release. |

Yup, exactly. The point was simply that the disc contents for the LE and RE appear to be the same, and the only LE extras are the same things that've been there all along. I think that's what he wanted to know, anyway.
But certainly, yes -- if you're not getting the LEs to begin with, waiting for the R1s seems more reasonable. |

Ah, haven't visited that site before so i didn't know about them. But damn, the prices always seem to be around 5% cheaper(like hlj's early bird) thing although there's no paypal option. The points system is nice though. Anyway, looks like i might use them from now on.Thanks!

Yup, pretty much. Actually, on the 7th OST CD, they have the TV Size versions of the two concert songs, and it does indeed sound quite different. One was obviously going for the "live concert" sound (that got combined with other ambiant noise, room echo, etc.) and the other for, of course, the "produced album" sound. Normally in anime they'd just master the song once and use it for both purposes (maybe cut it up a bit for length), but it's another of the little touches of that scene and this show.

There's a youtube clip somewhere of Hirano appearing on a comedy talk show in Japan where she demonstrates just how much range she has (she spends about 90% of the time in a high-pitched child-like voice and then suddenly drops to a low-pitched sultry voice). The tunes in the anime were intentionally "underproduced" to sound like they'd been done by a high school girl in a high school auditorium with lower-end equipment (including clips and distortion).
Some interesting model work on the Haruhi figure... but that's one of those that I always wonder where one would display it.
