Oh man, episode 4 has to be the best episode so far in this OVA mini-series. Heck, even the art quality seems to have improved.

Not only do we have Roberta being the beautiful badass that she is, but Balalaika is still her hardcore, good ol' self. To this day, I still worship the ground she walks on. This episode only serves to remind me why.

I just want to point out that Rock is the audience's self-insert character. That's why Rock has skills that could be found in real life salarymen. It's all about the fantasy of "I could quit my dead end job, go to a town filled with criminals, and make a name for myself using what I know I am good at."

I doubt Rock has any special past. The intention is for him to be a "what-if", a fantasy escape for the middle-age men dreaming of freedom. So the more ordinary his background, the better for that purpose.

WTF, did he calculate Revy getting shot and didn't care about it? I never thought Rock could be such a shrewd SOaB (O.o)!

im..pretty sure he didnt calculate revy getting shot - he did after all ask her earlier on to play an integral role in the entire thing

in terms of rock's development, its a downward spiral. as he gets more successful in the "dark realm," he loses more and more of his soul. He really is quite possibly the next "Chang" in the making, except possibly worse.

i thought the revy/fabiola conversation at the end was impeccable. the dialogue was perfect and everything fabiola said cut straight through revy like a razor. it was the 100% sharp honest truth...revy is delusional, but i can completely understand why that is.

it all ties back to episode 7 of season 1, when rock grabbed his balls and earned revy's respect. he earned the respect, but slowly started a process of losing his soul

it just became more apparent in the OVA series...

i dont know how things will end, not reading the manga to find out, but i hardly see a happy ending for rock/revy!

FUNimation talked about releasing Blood Trail in the U.S. this year, but I'm not sure how that delay effects those plays. What pisses me off is that I can't find the DVDs for the first two seasons on any regular online retailer. How is it that they plan to release Blood Trail but no reproducing more of the first two seasons?

Never thought we'd see Eda with glasses. but i still prefer the sunglasses. Rock looks like a genius right now. The end with that grin and his talking was so wicked. Enjoyed Fabiola and Revy's talk. It actually makes sense. On a side note i wonder who the real boss actually is. Wonder if Rock will get it right, so only 1 more left right? __________________ My Anime List

Spoiler for episode 4: Rock is still on his path of twilight towards becoming a crime boss-level schemer/strategist/negotiator. The development of the character is both wonderful and fascinating that I wonder who Rock really is. Sometimes I wonder if there's something more to his family history, beyond what we know so far. Another highlight for me is the conversation between Revy and Fabiola at the end. Pretty telling I think, of the partnership dynamic of Revy and Rock and how their clashing personalities and backstories result in them being drawn up by fate to each other in an almost needy way. And yet, while Revy sees and needs Rock as her 'field of flowers', Rock himself seems to be already headed towards a transformation of character, while playing one dangerous game of his own making.
