roberta lose one arm, eye, leg, and two fingers?

That ending confused me too.

I went back and checked the scans of the manga that didn't show the full end, for some reason. At no time did Roberta lose those two fingers on her right hand. In the manga, she actually was aiming the gun she was holding in her right hand.

I'm not sure about why she lost her left arm since that was the one she was using the gun with in the anime. In the manga, Roberta reached out for Garcia with both her arms. Since she was able to use that arm it doesn't make sense why she would of lost it.

I wanted to check out the credits for this season, but Anime News Network sucks. They don't have any of the voice actors on the Gray Fox Squad. Weird considering the size of the role they played in the story.

I'm not sure how I feel about how over the top they went with de-fanging Roberta. Especially when the manga didn't go anywhere near that far. At least we know that the manga version is the actual story. This is just an adaptation.

I'm thinking this could mean that they don't plan to produce any more animes for a long time. Though, given that the latest story arc isn't even finished in the manga. That's hardly surprising. I think they just felt the need to make this story since Roberta is such a huge character.

FUNimation has said they will bring the series to the US this year. I'm looking forward to that.

They totally ruined Roberta in the anime. Now she is a cripple who can't fight anymore hell she can't even pull the trigger on a gun anymore since her trigger and even middle finger is gone on the one arm she has left.

And taking all those injuries BS. In the manga she was badass and they couldn't even touch her.

I'll stick with the manga where she is fine and not defanged.

Looks like with the manga which is on hiatus for which looks like for a long time and hardly any chapters to animate guess they wanted to end the anime in a way so that you won't see anymore for years if ever.

I actually noticed that the formatting of the pages is slightly different than the manga was in Sunday GX. I agree with everyone else. What they did to Roberta at the end of this was just insanely over the top. I still think it was a great anime. I'm just glad that this wasn't what happened in the manga. Losing her left arm made no sense at all. That scene of the child Revy wasn't even in the manga. I don't think that that part of her past has ever been clearly shown in the manga at all, so far.


I make a point in that for the review I wrote for Black Lagoon: Roberta's Blood Trail over on Anime Vice.


I'd love to know how the Japanese fans are reacting to what happened to Roberta.

amazing, an incredible end to one of my favorite animes of all time.

quite simply everyone has a happy outcome, but nobody wins....every arc ends on such bittersweet terms (more bitter)

i was very glad to see some of revy's backstory come about- very tragic, and now its very understandable for how she is.

i was also glad to see that rock didnt totally lose his shit and go to the "dark side."

will have to admit, im sad to see this series go...

Whoa whoa, what happened there? Ok, so I read the manga but I've never really watched the anime, just decided to check out this thread on a whim, and I saw how they pretty much maim Roberta. So I decide to check out the last episode. Now in the last scene she was in before the credits, she still had her left arm and was holding her gun just fine. Why did she not have it in the credits scene?

Oh, and her leg too. Unless my eyes are just blatantly missing something, she had both legs in her confrontation/kiss scene with Garcia. So where the hell did the apparent prosthetic leg from the credits scene come in? ("apparent" because I hear people saying it, but where does it show her actually losing a leg? I don't see how you can tell from the credits with that black dress covering both her legs.) I saw her lose the eye (possibly? Maybe it didn't hit the eye directly? Even if it didn't she'd still be wearing an eyepatch for a while) and the fingers, but I can't comprehend why she apparently removed her arm and maybe leg for the credits.

Oh I sure did see that. But that left arm was perfectly functioning and able to hold and even fire a gun. It's not like it was torn off and hanging bloodily from her shoulder. Aside from possibly having a bullet or so in there, it was fine, and clearly she could use it.

I just don't understand how she lost it in the creds.

The final episode was awesome, they went over the top with Roberta and made it lose any credability to me but overall it was great, I'm wondering, Rock technically 'saved' them right? Because at the very end he was rambling that he didn't save anyone?


I guess he deserved that shot from her because he used 'what's his name' like that

But he outclassed everyone, and I think it's safe to say that he is now a force to be reckoned with. That said where the fuck is chapter 82 D: ?
