Anyway, my favorite genre of music is Oshare Kei!

I also like other forms of J-rock/metal, hardcore, many kinds of metal, electronic and industrial music, jazz, classical music (from any era, but the romantic era is a favorite), contemporary instrumental music (whether recorded or synthesized), some rap/hip hop, classic rock, etc.

I think these days, people tend to listen to a great variety of music, as a result of the internet and file sharing.

Neoclassical darkwave; Dark ambient [Examples: Dargaard, Avrigus]

Jpop, heavy metal, gothic rock, christian rock, alternative... it's all good. I can't stand rap or hip hop though... unless if there are guitars grinding in the background. =p

That would be classical for me, orchestral, chamber, solo, you name it (sans opera).

I like jazz too, but mainly small combos, especially the piano, bass, drums trio. Big bands have great arrangements, but small combos allow for stronger improvisation, which is great. I especially like pianists, Art Tatum, Oscar Peterson, Keith Jarrett, Bill Evans.

Then finally, anime music. I love it! Yoko Kanno, Taku Iwasaki, Mina Kubota, Toshihiko Sahashi, OP ED themes performed by the VAs, jpop artists, I've Sound, Maaya Sakamoto, Mikuni Shimokawa, Saeko Chiba...

Well...I love rock,punk rock,hard rock and also metal.

But if I would have to choose one, I would choose..hm...I think metal.
And ofcourse I voted for it.
