So this season's main love rival is Kotori hm? It's like Kotori/Aisha vs. Nemu/Sakura tag team for Jyunichi's love unlike the first season where it's just Nemu vs. Sakura thing

--> And I thought Kotori gave up on Jyunichi after getting rejected on first season. I guess spending 2 years alone with him re-awaken those feelings again no?

Eh... Well... the way they portraited the whole thing wasn't much of a rivalry or anything. I mean, you can tell everyone liked Jyunichi, but it was all more or less about Nemu :P Aisia's part has to do with the general theme of the magic of the sakura tree, and it was a big part later in the series.

If you ask me, Aisha seems to be acting like a "cupid" trying so hard to bring happiness. Poor Kotori, looks like she can't compete to Nemu for Jyunichi's feelings.

I thought that the only two girls who were within a "realistic" reach of Jyunichi were Kotori and Nemu, however I'm sure that everyone knew how it was going to end up from the start...

It can't hurt to have a love rivalry here and there. Well, it seems that all the girls wants Jyunichi anyway. Speaking of, I never knew that Jyunichi was that popular with the ladies - from the school idol to his so called "sister"

Well, of course its easy to tell that he'd end with Nemu.. he's always going to end with Nemu, i just believe that lil' feature is what makes both seasons of Da Capo, so good to watch. Its like watching there love expand. :3

You know what? Thats the thing I like about romance anime. A major portion(ok, 100% ) of the time I know who the male lead ends up with. So now your probably saying "Man, sucks to be you, doesn't that make it boring that you know what's going to happen?"

No, you know what, I never know what's going to happen, because I may know the end result, but it's getting to that end result that makes the ride so much fun. You know, I've watched so many anime and read alot of manga, and I'll personally say Da Capo is one of my favorite series.

Ok, you know what, I like Da Capo. I'll say it again. I love it. Ok, maybe it's just a friend of mine who's an absolute Nemu nut. I say he has got just about every bit of Nemu merchandise that was ever created. You know maybe I'm just jealous because he is one of the very few people I know who is so passionate about what he likes. I tell you, very few people out there like that. I got to hand it to him

Sorry, I was too lazy to go through the whole 21 pages to look for answer. I want to ask something. This is a ridicuolous question really. Is Kudo Kanae a male or a female? Obviously, he was a boy. But I was sure that I saw his name in the Saimoe tournament list, where all the contestants are suppose to be female.

Kudou Kanae is really a girl. Because of her strict upbringing, she is forbidden from flirting with boys, so as a way of ensuring it she has to disguise herself as a boy. By playing her path in the game, Jyouichi finds hints about her true nature (though doesn't realize what's really going on until much later), like:
1. The fact that Kudou asks for the 2nd button from Jyouichi's uniform during graduation for a "girl who likes Jyouichi" (this a tradition between lovers) while concealing the identity of the "girl" asking for it,
2. That Kudou has the smell of a fragrant shampoo when Jyouichi smells "his" hair,
3. That Kudou likes romantic movies and cries while watching them as Jyouichi noticed on their "date",
4. The incident when Jyouichi saw a girl confessing to Kudou but Kudou turned her down, then when confronted about it, confessed "his" feelings to Jyouichi instead (causing mega-embarassment and shock on the latter, though Kudou immediately said it was a joke) and
5. The incident in the infirmy when Kudou was sick and resting - Jyouichi visited the infirmy to check on Kudou and finds "him" fast asleep, smells again the fragrant shampoo, then notes "his" cute girly face. Moments later Jyouichi heard what sounded like his name said quietly by Kudou, then, as Jyouichi takes a close look, Kudou grabs Jyouichi and KISSES him! (much to Jyouichi's embarrassment)

The revelation happened when Jyouichi made an emergency pit stop at the infirmy when he got bowled over by Miharu (who was pursuing Suginami at the time, and spewing out a ridiculous threat like "In the name of Nemu-sempai and the God of Bananas, I'll definitely catch you!!!") resulting in an injured finger. When Jyouichi stepped in, he was embarrassed to see a girl being examined by the school nurse, but before he could get out, the girl called to him, and Jyouichi suddenly realized that was Kudou (before he gets chased out by the nurse).
Later that evening Kudou calls Jyouichi about the incident, making Jyouichi promise not to tell anyone about her real identity, then after some prodding from Jyouichi, she invites him out next day to tell him everything.

Come next day, Kudou shows up in a kimono, clearly a girl.

i think there was one scene when he/she was tugging to jyunichi together with tamaki or someone.

Incidentally, I'd have to listen again to refresh my memory, but I believe it was the third D.C.S.S. drama CD that kinda-sorta dealt with this question without actually "dealing" with it the way the game did.

Basically, in the drama CD, the whole gang goes off on a camping trip and, for whatever reason, Kanae keeps switching between a guy and a girl. Of course, Junichi's the only one to know what's going on, and hijinks ensue. (I seem to recall one particular scene where, during the overnight camping trip, girl-Kanae crawls into Junichi's sleeping bag at night, only to awaken as guy - much to Suginami's surprise when he spots them the next morning. ) The whole thing is essentially a nod to the game fans who know Kanae's true identity, but without actually getting into the story from the game.

Well, in the game, it isn't - see Sailor Enlil's game spoilers. In the anime (edit: well, in the drama CD, which is an extension of the anime), they play on it as a joke using magic, but never really answer the question as they do in the game. But, in either rendition, it's safe to say that:

Oh I see then . Anyway, so Nemu was away for 2 years and was in training right? And why is Jyunichi's hair turned from brownish color to black? And does Kotori knows that Jyunichi and Nemu were lovers to begin with?

Hum, yes. I believe she didn't tell him when she left, that's why he wasn't in the happinesu mood of things when she came back

Juni's hair change was I believe the producers ideas of going the way the game went.

Maybe Kotori had a hunch, but it was certain that in the end of Da Capo 1 Kotori knew that Juni had someone on his mind, and it was apparent what with Nemu's sickness and all.

Hmm....I still wish Sakura had gone boing boing in DCSS, that was the first thing I looked forward to when DCSS was announced....oh well, it is true that I've always lived by the "expect nothing" rule, but the rule never had anything to do with hope and nosebleeds

I was expecting Sakura to grow up as well, but when I saw her in DCSS for the first time I was kinda dissapointed, but happy in a way.

In a way, my hopes were fulfilled lol. See, I may have hoped to see Sakura return boing boing, but in the end she still came back so it kinda made my day. I did also like the scenes where she was schooling Aisha.

Basically, her name is Izumiko Murasaki. Yes, she is a real girl. Unfortunately my friend didn't go into her details, but basically you kinda get the idea....
