Sweet. Map of the Empire.
Spoiler:
Alnus in the center, the white hex. Nearest black dot to the north-west is Italica. The black hex to the east is the Empire capital. The circle marks the zone of area the JSDF is aware of The distance reference bar is 1000km The purple area indicates the Empire's influence. This is a map of the continent, not the whole world though. Dunno if the residents are even aware of what's outside the continent.

This one actually is an icon of the Headhunter bunnies, like the guy above said.
I assume it's a viciously barbaric tribe of the Warrior Bunnies (which are Amazoness culture btw). The forest north of it is where the High Elves live. Looking at the scale, that forest is freakin' massive too. I'd imagine there's a LotR-like kingdom of High Elves there.

A smaller scale turn based, story driven, strategy game like a Fire Emblem/Final Fantasy Tactics would work pretty good. |

I think it would make for a great RPG, as opposed to RTS. Or some hybrid thereof, I.E. Dragon Commander ... only with a better done RTS element. Or something akin to Valkyria Chronicles.
All this off topic discussion aside however, that map looks a little like a warped version of Europe/Asia. The western most side is an engorged version of Spain, Italy is straightened out, while Japan is far larger. Maybe that's just my brain taking a natural allegory, but I wonder if that is somewhat intentional? It seems the central setting does take on a lot of Western European cultural facets. |

speaking of the empire, if military was involved that they became so great, then I'd say:
INFANTRY - soldiers having Greco-Roman inspired armor as seen in the manga. - Orc skirmishers serving as vanguard (pray tell but exactly what do close combat 'zerkers actually have an impact in the forefront of a skirmish?) - formations might follow the testudo or the macedonian phalanx - known auxilliary known are Orcs. not remotely sure if the employ Elven archers but if they do, they might as well be crack shots with the bows that COULD actually pin down a platoon with a hail of arrows if not a volley of accurate arrows VEHICLES(?) - war elephant (I call BS but highly impossible. scratch Hannibal and old India for this.) - chariot (I dont think so but it IS a good thing t have.) also, the thought of them routing to five old gatling gun teams amuses me greatly.
