I don't suppose you've heard of this nifty concept of "fashback" have you?

I mean they could have spent the recent flashback episode adding depth to various characters instead of rehashing things we already know. Especially since they basically went from remastered Seed to a remaster of Destiny.

I don't know why people thought there'd be extra development anyway. The project name at least has the decency to say it up front: "Gundam SEED Destiny HD Remaster." Not "Gundam SEED Destiny Reboot."

Well my apologies for hoping they might actually want to correct some of the mistakes they originally made. Seriously if they can find it within themselves to give us a panty shot of Luna or giving us a peek at Meers nip, I'd like to hope they'd fix things that actually needed to be fixed.

Clearly I'm insane for having such hopes, my apologies.

fan service shot won't change the plot = so they are easy to add

Sad but true unfortunately.

And I'm not asking for a major overhaul of the series that a "reboot" would imply. Just better characterization and maybe improvement of the plot.

No-one on the SEED production staff or in Sunrise seems to think there's anything that could be better or improved apart from the animation. Or they just don't want to spend a bunch of money and get a massive "they changed it, now it sucks" backlash.

There's also the fact that they'd have to admit they made a mistake if they changed stuff more than cosmetically. Which is a no-no in Japan.

which, imo, would be more than welcome, starting with after episode 12, they can call it Gundam Seed Destiny:FOMAF (F*ck off morosawa and fukuda)

i'm quite sure it'll be great. Pour some alcohol into tomino and we'd have a great ending.
