Good it could be a important hint, but something is bothering me.
After shidos wounds healed and phantom told them that she doesn't what want to harm them, she also mentioned that the ending they brought out was the best case scenario. So it sounds like she had a other plan at first.

It probably wasn't a different plan, but that there could have a much worse ending to how this went, like if Kotori hadn't just lost control, but went a berserk spree like she almost goes on a few times later on, or if Shidou hadn't managed to make it in time.

No it was killing her. She didn't have the talent necessary to control the power which was slowly killing her. That was why it was so urgent to get her sealed in volume 4. Fire is useful if you can control it but it is more likely to consume everything around if it they're unable to.

Not only DAL, monigatari series didn't make it to top 20 either even though its last novel sold over 120,000 copies and DAL vol 11 sold over 62,000 copies in its first week. I say: this people are seriousy stupid. I agree with majutsu no index being one of the first, no game no life (though the author was stealing and cheating) etc. But there are novels that are far worse than DAL and it deserves a spot there.

Great, that made my day even better. I'm just gonna forget all related to this issue. Waiting for encore 3 and vol 12. New arc, finally new spirit, perhaps more DEM again, possibly phantom and everyone happy.
