I think I'm finally starting to come around to the series, I'm also liking the idea of ShidoxTohka, guess will see what happens with that pairing as the series goes on. This weeks episode looks like an action packed one, I'm really liking the animation too as of late

Date a Live 04 - Go Team Rabbits!

Tohka's pretty entertaining when she's just living. I get the feeling that house is going to be filled with Spirits before the series is over. Yoshino, in her first appearance, is a bit more subdued than I'm used to for an Iori Nomizu role, but she is cute. The giant rabbit was not wholly unexpected, and looks like it'll make for some nice action next episode. I was wondering why Origami hadn't caught on that Tohka is Tohka, but then I remembered she only knew her as "Princess"; the name Tohka was assigned later. The show's got some really nice visuals and once again, I'm loving the OP theme. The character designs for the Spirits are also really eye-catching. Fancy, but not overly so.

Episode 4 proved Origami is a world class stalker. And she's apparently been doing that for quite a while. She has a pretty damn good memory, too.

The harem antics at the beginning of the episode were amusing. I was hoping Kotori would revert back to her little sister persona at home, but no dice. She was cute when she tried to resist taking a bath first though. That's a side of her I'd like to see more often. It's also proof she hasn't been completely faking her little sister persona.

The new spirit created an interesting conflict with Tohka. I was wondering how Shidou was going to be able to basically cheat on Tohka (and the spirits that will come after her) in all impunity. They're going to have to work out a solution.

This new chapter finally concludes Yoshino's arc for me. There's a lot of tension created between characters, Tohka felt jealous when it comes to the romance between Shido and the other girls, Origami is a bit annoying but still remains her elegant charm despite her dark past. Tohka's new fighting outfit isn't as great as her previous one but still looks superb, I was surprised that when Origami is taking a shower, her towel didn't fall at all, and I find it funny how Shido is riding a magical skateboard from Tohka's artifacts. I can finally understand that whenever he succesfully dates the Spirit, her clothes get rip off, but the fanservice still looks pretty tame so far. Seems like the next episode indicate hot springs from what it implies.

So just watched ep 5...

Spoiler for ep 5 opinion and some scene in the novel:

I already expected this from the preview but holy crap they cutted almost like every scene from the novel:

- Tohka's taking foods from the fridge before sulking in her room again
- Tohka's kiss scene with Shidou after sealing Yoshino
- Reine's "Love is the emotion that'll kill the world" scene
- Kotori's hugging Shidou scene
- Reine's explanation regarding Yoshinon origin and Yoshino's real reason to create Yoshinon

As the novel reader this really pisses me off because they cutted many scenes that is important for the characters (especially the fourth is very important for the audience to grasp Kotori's character) and not to mention they handle Shidou's final scene really bad, like in the book Sandalphon supposed to be frozen because of Sadokiel's power but in here it seems like Shidou just choose not to use it like an idiot, seriously what the hell? And i might be missing something but did they really gives no explanation to Yoshinon origin? Really? That part is supposed to be the most important part for the whole arc, in short this episode is a total disappointment for me, really hope Kurumi arc would be much better because Yoshino's arc is a total disappointment for me...

The problem is they don't just cut the trivial things, but they also cut many scenes that very necessary to understand the plot and characters, non novel readers would never known of Yoshinon origin and would just think that Yoshino just went crazy because she lost her puppet, in the novel it clearly said that Yoshinon is Yoshino's another personality and she needed her to control her power and also her reason to give birth to Yoshinon personality, the main problem is the staff is just either being lazy or just plainly hate Yoshino and Kotori

Partly suspecting this. I think they know that the appeal is Kurumi and Touka.

But, wouldn't the logical formula is 3 eps per novel. That seems ok with me. But, like one of the above posters said, they are cutting some IMPORTANT parts.

They made an original episode for the anime, so that is not a good excuse, they choose to give Yoshino this...terrible treatment in favor of their own original episode which is not something the novel fans (like me) would appreciate. If they think that fans would prefer to see an original episode instead of a proper adaptation of the novel then i can only say that they are totally wrong

The problem is that the next story covers more than this one story. If they went 3 eps per story then the next story arc will be rushed and butchered.

From my experience watching anime, the second novels its always the one who suffers after the first story.

Uh? Original episode? OK, I have yet to see that, btw is there a preview? The raw I got didn't have it.

Novels/manga fans aren't an solid group for example Railgun anime hat lots of original episodes and were well accepted despite the complains.
