As intriguing as all of this is (and I'm tempted to dig the rebooted XCOM off the shelf to get in some stick time), there are a couple of things which puzzle me...

1. It pushes the action a lot more if all of your troops get revealed instead of just the one who was discovered. It can also be rationalized by saying that concealment simply reflects the alertness state of the enemies, and that once concealment is broken everybody simply becomes more alert. That said, it does allow the Ranger to be useful since they have abilities capable of remaining in concealment, and apparently even getting back into it. 2. Having the upgrades permanent on a weapon helps to push the idea of "legacy" weapons, which you need to pass from soldier to soldier, or recover from a fallen soldier to be able to use again. If the upgrades simply can be swapped between weapons, then the weapon's "identity" as it may becomes irrelevant. It also better emphasizes the scarcity of getting the various upgrades, and whether you want to use them on a weapon or not. Here's another good gameplay vid, showing off a UFO Raid: Finally:

So, for the last 2 days, Beaglerush has been streaming the XCOM 2 demo while playing it in a modded version of Legendary (Impossible) with very masochistic extra options.
So far the game is really wanting me preorder it, even if it's a literal robbery. Spoiler for new meta:

So, even with the preview build people have been going crazy with modding... or rather, just Beaglerush going crazy with stuff like this:
Yes, that is a 20-man XCOM squad you're seeing there And here's a screencap with 48 XCOM soldiers in:

That 1 minute long Overwatch was so hilarious to watch, I was laughing during the whole stream last night afterwards.
@Lowegear The moment Beagle put 20 XCOM soldiers in the game reminded me of the times when he was playing his escalation mod. |

So, aparently aside from the obvious hero units (aka Sid Meier, Otto Zander, etc) there's going to be another one Hero unit tied to the best know EW mod.
According to /vg/, other hero units include Spoiler for Hero units:
As hero units are concerned, these deactivate achievements for the game, and as always they come with very broken stats and armor/weapons/equipments. |

Also, from said video: - Wraith Armor has grappling hook, and ability called "Wraith" which allows a unit to phase through objects. - Fusion Blade is highest-tier melee weapon that has a chance to set enemies on fire. - Hellweave is an item which damages enemies that attack the soldier in melee, along with a chance to set them on fire. If I equip my soldier with a flame-thrower equipped Exosuit and Incendiary grenades, I can create a BURNING LOVE Soldier of Immolating Purgation

Like this thing over here. Above came from this vid by Rooster Teeth, showing off the hilarity of XCOM 2 when everything bad that can happen, does: If you want hilarity without the cringe though, have some Beagle:

Maybe it's just me but it seems that the Gunslinger tree is better than the Sniper tree.
