I concur. She's a really fun and unique character, and provided a ton of entertainment during this first episode.

Judging by the opening all of them also she might tolerate the fork thing because it doesn't really do anything to her? Other than the initial ouch she says, she's never injured by it.

Considering that she's a super-powerful deific being from non-euclidean space who could squash Mahiro like a bug if she felt like it, and considering the crap she tends to put him through, the fork thing is both not a serious threat to her, and a justifiable tool in a comedy for keeping her in check. There is very little Mahiro could to to actually stop her were this a more serious series. The fork thing is a form of comedic sociopathy where we recognize that A: it does not actually cause Nyaruko any real harm, and B: it gives Mahiro a means of keeping this creature under some control. Without something like that, she would probably end up raping him, at the least.

You don't even have to make that text dump because the most important reason why the fork thing's funny and not offensive is because it's a COMEDY. When the three stooges are slapping each other around and being bastards to each other it's funny for the same reason.

Wow, this is definitely going on my watch list. Naryuko is simply too funny. And that ending bath scene where she tries to rape Mahiro, is so unusual that it feels fresh and unique. Rather then the guys lusting after the girl, in this series, the reverse is true. Definitely a nice touch. There are not that many shows I'm going to be watching this season, but this definitely made my list.

Nyarlathotep defend the earth? lol, the last time i see her in a fictional work that borrowed her as the Antagonist, she screw the hell out of it. i think my sanity point just dropped massively after this

anyway, episode 1 was awesome and i loved it. and seriously? cthulhu gods defend the earth because they love anime and otaku stuff? . nyarlko is just too funny, but the only time i think she act somewhat like nyarlathtep in other fictional work is when she beat the crap out of those nightgaunt.

Nyar___ is absolutely hilarious, I'm glad Poplar VA got a starring role and she sounds really good (/wacky?) here. The show kinda slows down when the focus is not on her though, and it doesn't help that the male lead is dead boring; hopefully they find ways to remedy that.
