Why would OVA be a season 3 in the first place though? it's probably just side-stories.

Considering the OVA seems to be including Shizuka in it, it'll probably be the ending to the invasion started in the movie. Then the TV series can be about a completely different JFW.

Because originally they said that OVA would feature 501'st, that's why everyone assumed this.

Don't remember where I saw it, but I remember seeing a promotional image of the OVA yesterday with Shizuka among the cast.

Makes sense. She was pushed with the main cast in the movie compared to the others. Happy about that.

So Shizuka is in the cast but it is not season 3 ( not continuation of the story ).....

Ahem yes, I've been meaning to fix that thread title but I quite literally took a hit to my skull recently

But in my honest opinion, I don't want to see 501st in the 3rd series. I mean, just how many times is Miyafuji going to lose her powers

don't get me wrong, I love the girl (IN A NONE-JAILBAIT WAY

), but the 501st had their run, which was a nice run, and I'd like to not see the 501st get stretched again, and would prefer to preserve that memory, Mio coming to grips with her age, Minna's deadly pantsu

, I know I'm going to miss Sanya's butt, and I know I haven't had enough Shirley

, but really, there's much to explore in their world (which would be nice to have focus elsewhere instead of on 501st again), and while I am hoping for some Ground Witches in the 3rd series, I wouldn't mind if this girl's butt is animated:

With the new TV series, they want to likely expand with other witches, however, the 501st are pretty iconic and are never really going away. So with that they made the OVA series likely short about them as a side-story.

I joined the witches fandom pretty late... It's definitely set after movie if Shizuka is in now, but I doubt it's anything serious plot. If it is, credit to them for making an even more entertaining OVA series.

TV series will be complete new series,not just season 3

It's not that confuse,what we don't know yet is just "which team will be the main team of new TV series?"

That said, I wouldn't mind if the 3rd Season was instead about the Soumnus Misfits. Because c'mon, Beurling breaks mental hyposis on Sakomizu Haruka by getting the object of Haruka's yuri crush, Anabuki Tomoko, and uses her khukri to slice away Tomoko's miko outfit, cackling happily about how bare skin and a Striker Unit is an unbeatable look.

Admit it, that's something worth watching.

Have they revealed who the character designer and chief animation director for SW3 is going to be? I hope it's Tomoyasu Kurashima again; he was the Chief Animation Director for SW2, and I appreciate his designs in other media. For some reason he was booted off his job as both Chief Animation Director and Character Designer for Infinite Stratos 2 (despite doing an exemplary job in Infinite Stratos 1), and I'd like to know if he's coming back for SW3.

Well, it seems their appearance in the movie was no coincidence. I was betting on the Africa witches, but red pants are definetly fine too.

Now I need to get more familiar with the new crew.

And it must be said: Diferent unit! Hell yeah!
