[Manga] Claymore Chapter 74 Discussion

I don't know if the spoiler is true or not, but if it is, Galatea is definatly screwed.

Spoiler for Guesstimations:

If she really is blind, and have developed her fighting style around Yoki-sensing, she is just worse off against Miata then she was before, as Yoki-supression pills make Miata and Clarice undetectable. She is much better off if she developed her other senses instead, you know, typical blind-swordsman style.

has anyone considered th epossibility that shes faking blindness in order to blend in with the human people. I mean aside from the blond hair, the only major thing identifying her as a claymore would be her eyes. Plus as many have said shes defesive so she can regenerate her eyes.

That is a good point, if she pretended to be blind, she could very well fit into the human population. If she is faking it, then she has indeed found a good hiding place.

Wow Galatea has a scar going horizontal across her eyes as well as shes in a nun outfit. Totally not what I imagine but she's still holding her own against miata so far. Not sure if that's the sacred town that was in the earlier chapters but those look like the 2 knights that helped Clare defeat that yoma in church.

Just a word of advice to anyone who doesn't want to read spoilers about Chapter 74 in this thread: This is the chapter 74 discussion thread. The minute you enter this thread you should expect to see people talking about CHAPTER 74!!!! People are being very nice to use spoiler tags, but I wouldn't dream of criticising someone for not using tags for merely discussing the topic of this thread as so clearly explained by the thread's title.

If you don't want to learn what happens in chapter 74 until you read it for yourself, then just stay the heck out of the thread.

She avoided and dodged in an incredible way Miata's blows. Maybe my theory in the above posts was right. She can be sensing the hits like Teresa did. That's the only explanation for why she can dodge so skillfully Miata's blows.

It seems that our old friends Galk and <insert the name of the other one here> are there. So, the probability of this town being Rabona is 99.999991245%.
There are the great numbers of guards as well.

Here is a quick chapter summery of what I saw from the RAW.

The Town appears to be Rabona, where Claymores are banned, both Clarice and Miata wear cloaks to disguise themselves, but a guard notices their armored boots and attempts to stop them. One of the two Rabona Knights back from Clare's Rabona arc, Sid, offers to help them escape, Clarice accepts and he helps her get to the roof of a building, he offers to help Miata too, who simply jumps up to the roof instead. Sid leads them to a place to hide, Galk is there, and Clarice seems suspicious, but Galk calms her down and apparently has story time or something with her.

Scene switch to a cloaked Nun watching children leave with a priest, the cloaked nun says something that suprises the priest, before he can inquire further, Clarice and Miata show up infront of them. After saying something, the Nun is immediatly attacked by Miata, but dodges the attack, Clarice attempts to attack, but the Nun dodges her attack, which strikes a piller. The nun ignores Clarice and focuses on evading Miata's (rather destructive) attacks. The nun leads Miata to a confession box, which Miata swings through, but her sword stops. The Confession Box has a Claymore inside, which the nun (obviously Galatea) is now holding. Galatea uses Yoki and attacks Miata, Miata blocks the attack but is knocked back into the streets.

The Nun and the priest exchange a few words, and then Clarice begins to talk to Galatea, Galatea's nun-hood is removed and her eyes are blank, a scar running across her face. She is apparently blind now, Miata begins attacking one again, growing frustrated with her inability to land a solid hit on Galatea, Galatea is apprently manipulating Miata's energy, even through the Supression pills (guess I lost that bet.) but Miata grits her teeth and blows through Galatea's manipulation, Galatea now looks pressed, her smile from earlier gone. (I won that one though.)

The Scene switches to Galk and Sid, who can hear the sounds of the battle, the chapter ends.

I am loving this chapter, I KNEW Sid and Galk would show up again one day!

Galatea's blindness is a suprise, and her Yoki-manipulation has indeed taken a turn for the better if she can manipulate someone who is on supression-pills, but Miata is not one to leave us unimpressed either, and blows right through Galatea's manipulation.
