Personally, I think its a mix of Minority Report and Training Day. The tech and future type weapons is Minority Report-ish while what the New female cop main character is going through is somewhat similar to Training day, where they are one of the top graduating rookies, but they come into a world they weren't expecting nor prepared for. Basically, everything you were taught has been in vain, and doesn't help you whatsoever for what's in front of you.

It's a bit similar in concept, though that dealt with "seeing the future", this is more "person's personality means they may commit a crime".

The gun is very umhm... dangerous.... Relaying on data gathered purely by computers are doubtful sometimes... Human assessment must be put first into consideration..

P.S. Can we have a thread regarding the legal issues of such wepons if they'll come to exist?

I would if that weapon is unable to hurt me. Only doubts and fear, and the subsequent response, will kill you. It's a self fulfilled prophecy really. If you think it will kill you, then it WILL kill you. If you don't think it will kill you, then you won't be violent, agitated enough for it to deem you as a threat/criminal. Notice how the number goes down when she calms down? Give it a few more minutes then it would probably be <160 as well.

Again, I'm referring to the whole Emotion-CC correlation. It would not apply if there's already something wrong with the target to begin with.

Yes I know what you refer to...But a civilian like her...most likely has no intimate knowledge of the Dominator's workings. Plus the stress from being raped.

That's a combination with which having her trust a lethal weapon system is a bit pushing it.

Anyway, didn't they explained about how "CC" is considered infectious?

Example, if I, a latent criminal, takes you as hostage, you will get almost the same level as me after a while.(Purely due to stress, I think.) So it is not the problem of the data, its because they take into account what Jeroz said about the relations. But like you said, we can't rely on such guns, because its weaponry is deadly. Its either getting stunned(Paralysier) or Die(Lethal)

Though, when you see Urobuchi, any dark stories can happen.(Madoka is considered dark enough.) Those deaths...

I'm talking about the direction of the series. Since when did a good adaptation of anime is based on visuals and animation?

But since it was written by gen, i have high hopes that it will not fail.

^ Ah, my bad, it's a misunderstanding. Those aren't reasons to blame the animators, they are reasons to blame the main staff. And if it comes to direction alone, I think GC was more than okay as well, the main problem was that goddamn awfully generic plot.

If it takes this series an entire season to come up with "OH you know what! I just realized, this system itself creates emotional distress on the population and creates these 'psychopaths'! Our system is actually multipling these criminals!" I'm going to headdesk so hard.
How could no one with any fraction of intelligence in this world not see that this is a system of self-fuilfilling prophecy.

It's one of those glaringly obvious fact that shouldn't be a big reveal or exposition.
