As others have stated, it's his voice actor. Also, the VF-19 in the movie, is the same color as the YF-19 from Macross Plus. Macross Frontier is FULL of these little bits of the past. Minmei, Macross Zero, Fire Bomber, Isamu Dyson, Ghosts, etc. They all are from past Macross shows/movies.

i can't remember if they were really piloting vf-22s or not as i don't own this novel.
the book must have been out for a while. a friend of mine bought one long time ago and he told me about the last battle in the novel is way more exciting than in the movie.

Is it really Komilia or their adopted daughter Moaramia?

Moaramia, from Macross M3, is as far as I know the only daughter in the military.
