Denkigai no Honya-san [Aniticipation]

There's already been a drama CD (starring Ohsaka Ryouta - but then that's 50% of new series these days).

Quote:
The "youthful bookstore comedy" revolves around the folks who work in a manga book shop deep in a certain "Electric Town" neighborhood. ("Denki-Gai" or "Electric Town" is a popular name for shopping areas that specialize or used to specialize in electric and electronic items, like Tokyo's Akihabara.) The protagonist Umio works part-time at the manga store "BOOKS Umanohone" along with his senior at work (but not in age) Hiotan. As many dedicated manga fans visit the store, there is always something going on.
Doesn't look half-bad - the manga seems to be pretty well-regarded.

More like Denkigai no OTP.

I hope the anime does the crying faces justice.

Hmm... never heard of it. Here is a summary I came across of the series:

"Umio is a shy kid who just started his part time job at a manga store smack dab in the middle of the city. But his lifestyle isn’t as glamorous as the neon lights that illuminate the city. Umio’s closest friends are his co-workers who are all unique characters, to say the least, and although they're nice people, they have their quirks. They are a tight knit group of friends, have nicknames for each other and spend their weekends inside, sheltered from the extravagant scene happening on the outside."

Hmm... I think I will try the first few chapters....

At least post a link to the announcement.

The June issue of Kadokawa's Monthly Comic Flapper magazine is announcing on Friday that a television anime adaptation of Asato Mizu's Denki-Gai no Honya-san (Electric Town Bookstore Worker) manga has been green-lit. The anime will premiere this fall, and future issues of the magazine will have more details on the anime.

The "youthful bookstore comedy" revolves around the folks who work in a manga shop deep in a certain "Electric Town" neighborhood. ("Denki-Gai" or "Electric Town" is a popular name for shopping areas that specialize or used to specialize in electric and electronic items, like Tokyo's Akihabara.) The protagonist Umio works part-time at "BOOKS Umanohone" along with his senior at work (but not in age) Hiotan. As many dedicated manga fans visit the store, there is always something going on.

The manga inspired a drama CD that the real-life bookstore chain Comic Toranoana sold last year. The CD starred Ryota Ohsaka (The Devil is a Part-Timer!, Nagi no Asukara) as Umio, Natsumi Takamori (Pretty Rhythm Dear My Future, Bodacious Space Pirates) as Hiotan, Yoshitsugu Matsuoka (Sword Art Online, The IDOLM@STER) as Kantoku (a male employee at the store), Minami Tsuda (Pretty Rhythm Dear My Future, Wake Up, Girls!) as Sensei (a female employee aiming to become a manga creator), and Tomokazu Sugita (Gintama, Soredemo Sekai wa Utsukushii) as Sommelier (a male employee who is very versed in manga knowledge).

Mizu launched the manga in Monthly Comic Flapper in 2011, and Kadokawa's Media Factory will ship the seventh compiled volume in Japan on May 23.

Inaho is a legit badass, and I wish I was like him.
Slaine is the most complex, well-written character ever.
Princess Asseylum is a beautiful, tragic character whose kind intentions warm my scarred heart.

Aldnoah.Zero has loveable characters, amazingly varied and unpredictable fights, and brilliant foreshadowing.
It is the best mecha ever made, and one of the best anime period.

Very pleasant surprise here, I really enjoyed the manga and this is one of those comedies that would translate really well to animation. For those hearing of this series the first time, it's basically Genshiken meets Working!, and it's definitely as hilarious as it sounds.

Hoping the drama CD cast remains the same as well; Sugita-voiced Sommelier would be killer.

After reading the first two volumes, this is going to be one of my most anticipated series, second only to High Score Girl.

Teeny update on this series: http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/news...g-theme/.77220

Quote:
The September issue of Kadokawa's Monthly Comic Flapper magazine is revealing on Tuesday that Ayana Taketatsu will perform the opening theme song for the television anime adaptation of Asato Mizu's Denki-gai no Honya-san (Electric Town Bookstore Worker) manga. Additionally, denk!girls — a unit made up of voice actresses Natsumi Takamori, Minami Tsuda, Ayana Taketatsu, and Mai Aizawa — will perform the ending theme.

The show's main cast includes:

Natsumi Takamori as Hiotan
Minami Tsuda as Sensei
Ayana Taketatsu as Fu Girl
Mai Aizawa as Kameko
Yu Kobayashi as G Men
Satomi Satou as Tsumorin
Yoshitsugu Matsuoka as Kantoku
Takahiro Tomita as Sommelier
Ryota Ohsaka as Umio

Masafumi Sato (Saint October) is directing the series at Shinei Animation with supervision by Makoto Moriwaki (Tantei Opera Milky Holmes director). Kazuyuki Fudeyasu (Princess Resurrection, Tantei Opera Milky Holmes) is handling the series composition, and Yurie Kuniyuki (Tantei Opera Milky Holmes Dai-Ni-Maku animation director) is serving as both character designer and chief animation director. Takuya Hiramitsu (Library War, The Prince of Tennis II) is serving as sound director, Hiroshi Takaki (AKB0048, Tytania, HappinessCharge PreCure!) is composing the music, and Pony Canyon is handling the music production.

The anime will premiere in October on BS11 and Tokyo MX TV.

The "youthful bookstore comedy" revolves around the folks who work in a manga shop deep in a certain "Electric Town" neighborhood. ("Denki-Gai" or "Electric Town" is a popular name for shopping areas that specialize or used to specialize in electric and electronic items, like Tokyo's Akihabara.) Mizu launched the manga in Monthly Comic Flapper in 2011, and Kadokawa's Media Factory shipped the seventh compiled volume in Japan on May 23.
Definitely giving this series a try. ^^

I'm not surprised but still saddened that the Porn Agent's boobs get more screen time than Sommelier, Cam and Director combined.

The manga is actually amusing to read so I hope the anime will retain that energy.

Haha, oh this show....

I think I'll stay around to see where this goes since it makes fun of its characters and premise. That ED song is also catchy.
