You might want to take a look at Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha, as it is about a girl, who "befriends" her "enemy", and then later turns her enemy into a lesbian lover (according to some).

lol... I doubt that is what he's looking for; and though I dropped StrikerS almost immediately, I'm fairly certain Fate and Nanoha are only lesbian lovers in certain fans' fantasies.

Basilisk (definitely!) and Mars Daybreak, seconded. Add: Otogi Zoshi, Kaze no Stigma.
Tenshi na Konamaiki and Angel Heart start within the same premise.
