Rape scene... he must be refering to that part where Al loses his body. From my memory it went like this:

Equivalent Trade (ET): "Al, come here. I want your body."
Al: "Aiiiiiiiiiii"
ET: "I'm gonna eat you all up!"
Al: "Noooooooo, don't! Stop!"
ET: "Muhahahahaha"
Al: "Eeeeeeeeeeeeeek"
ET: *nomnomnomnom*

Something like that.

HENTAI represents everything that is wrong with anime and why so many people think that anime fans are freaks! They don't understand why animated porn is sexy like REAL porn. They can't get past the whole "BUT IT'S A CARTOON!!" phase or see a drawing instead of a two-dimensional person like only the otaku can.

I mentioned a genre, not shows.

Boku no pico is disgusting as well. Any shows that put kids in sexual situations is wrong, plain and simple.

Like Chiibi said, ecchi/moe stuff does not represent everything that is wrong within the anime. It's hentai stuff which does represent everything that is wrong within anime.

For the rest of us, most started watching at an early age too.

I agree that there are some really creepy anime out there and a creepy target audience to match. But those are hardly the majority by any stretch.

How many people have seen a moe or ecchi anime period? Most of the "anime fans are freaks" stereotypes I run into don't concern moe fans.

The entirity of the flak I take for being a moe fan comes from existing anime fans, many of whom aren't very good at telling how old the characters are actually supposed to be or subscribe to the "if you like small breasted girls you're a pedo" BS.

(Edit: some people also seem to have a misconception regarding how important sexual attraction is to a moe fan's choice in shows/characters. Some of my favourite moe characters are characters I don't think of as sexually attractive (ie. Yune from Ikoku Meiro no Croisee), while there are other cases like the characters in K-On where I do think the characters are attractive but don't really consider it to have much impact on my opinion of the show.)

The two major ones are Hellsing and Elfen Lied because... UGH. I havent seen any Hellsing ultimate, so I'm just talking about the TV series but god that series was terrible. The art was atrocious, looking honestly like a late 70s show in some scenes, the plot was completely nonexistand and never EVER gave us any answers as to a resolution of the plot, Seras was incredibly boring, Alucard is pushed into the sidelines and for the love of god WHY DO PEOPLE LIKE THIS?

Elfen Lied is... A little better on a technical level, the animation and cinematography are honestly very good, the music is spectacular and its... Kind of well written on the surface level? BUT, BIG BUT, HUUUUUUUUUUGE BUT. Elfen Lied is... Sick, it's morally reprehensible, the vast majority of the characters are completely pointless, the plot doesn't come to a satisfying conclusion and oh my god WHY DO PEOPLE LIKE THIS?

There are a lot of other shows like Kanon, Death Note and... Basically every shonen fighting show except Kenshin, Yu Yu Hakusho and HunterxHunter but those are more a dislike than a hate. And with Death Note in particular it's more a feeling of dislike towards the fanbase than the show.

I'm not a die-hard Hellsing fan but the Ultimate series was quite awesome. Never actually finished the original TV series but I understand that most people were really disappointed with it. I don't think you're alone there.

...perhaps it's because Nyu is cute?

If it weren't for her, I may not have watched it either. lol Kouta's wimpy, Yuka's a bitch, Nana and the other young girl are...well, they're okay but not enough to hold the show together so yeah, it all comes down to Lucy/Nyu. But mostly Nyu was the bait for the show.

Nyu is just a moeblob, which I am in no way a fan of. If you find her cute then thats totally cool but I cant stand characters like that. For me the saving grace of the show was actually Kurama, he was an interesting character but wasnt given NEARLY enough screen time to fully flesh him out
