Favorite/Best Instrumental Anime Songs?
Hi, I'm looking for a good list of your favorite instrumental anime songs that are slow. Just to clarify, this could be the instrumental versions of songs that typically have words in them, but you've heard the instrumental versions and think they're also good. The bigger the list, the better! Thanks.

Definitely take a look at the following soundtracks:
ARIA the Animation (for that matter, ARIA the Natural, ARIA the Origination, and all piano albums associated with this series) - Fantastic, laid-back music of the guitar and piano variety. Its slow pace is definitely right up your alley. The Choro Club and Takeshi Senoo deserve props for making such an enjoyable album. Bartender Original Soundtrack - more of a lounge-ish atmosphere with a lot of emphasis on the piano. A lot of the tracks have light, jazzy melodies that's enjoyable to listen to. sketchbook ~Full Colors~ Original Soundtrack - Nothing too demanding here since this is also another excellent piano album with great melodies. The composer also worked on Kure-nai if that helps any and it's a pretty solid atmospheric album. I'll probably list some more as I dig through my collection.

Refrain of Memory, Hanenone (Haibane Renmei OST)
by Kou Otani Don't give up, for I'll always be beside you. Nightstalker, Ghost in the Shell OST by Kenji Kawai Hark and repent thy sins, for the end is nigh. The Sixth Station, Spirited Away OST by Joe Hisaishi Mourn, for they are gone, never to return, like shadows who've lost their owners. Shell Guitar Version, Witch Hunter Robin OST (not slow though) by Taku Iwasaki Quote:
If you include anime-inspired games: Castle in the Mist, Melody in the Mist (Ico OST) by Michiru Oshima A lonesome traveller is joined by a lovely companion. Together, they find happiness. Metal Gear Solid Main Theme, Metal Gear Solid OST (definitely not slow either) by TAPPY Heroes never die. They merely grow older — and even more heroic. |

Kenshin - Tsuiokohen OST by Taku Iwasaki.
'Juuni Kokuki Piano Memories' and 'Juuni Kokuki Kokyu Memories' by Kunihiko Ryo. Some Joe Hisaishi songs: Inochi No Namae Instrumental version from the Chihiro Maxi Single Mononoke Hime Instrumental version ffrom the Mononoke Hime Maxi Single Also check out Hisaishis 'Works' sampler, there are 3 of them. Something very good I stumbled upon recently is the Mononoke OST (not the OP and ED OST, the other one), it has also some nice slow instrumental songs. Lots and lots of good stuff!
