I tried coloring a manga panel for the first time.


Then I added effects.


I'm not very good with highlights and shadows, I also think I sharpened her mouth a bit too much, but it was really fun making these. ^^ If I knew how they made those awesome effects on icons I've seen on LiveJournal and stuff I'd make one for my profile avatar. :3

Very impressive coloring works there, Haku. I can't see any deficiencies in the shadows or highlights, personally - looks really great.

I was definitely wanting a style along the lines of your cute Okami style, like what you're currently using for your avatar. I looooove it by the way For the sig, I was thinking something transparent, with Ammy perhaps playing with speck-size Issun...though I'm open to any other cute ideas you come up with or are in the mood for. What do you think?

Oh, that's a good question. I've put it off for a while now haven't I? Well, now's better than ever to try again. I might start by trying to color the previous ones. I might even re-draw them since my "technique" has changed a little bit.

She's Eureka from the movie Eureka Seven: Pocket Full of Rainbows. I haven't seen the series or the movie, I just loved the screen cap and wanted to vector it. ^^ I used SAI for the outlines this time and colored it in Photoshop.

I hate the way the necklace turned out though. ;_;

Can't quite figure out what's wrong with the necklace either... Apart from muted highlights looks fine to me.

Thanks! I tried a bit of gradient shading for the hair and skin. Although it's slight right now, I don't know if you can tell much of a difference. I thought the tears turned out pretty good, they're very easy to make actually. ^^

Thank you! The screen cap was very bright so it was difficult to blend in the highlights of the necklace. I wanted to make it like the screen but I failed. xD

Regardless, in the original the necklace's colors look a bit different (more shiny too), but I still like your version of it.
