Many people might disagree with that... I found the puzzle piece ordering of the show enjoyable ... reminded me a bit of Hitchcock mysteries or some literature (Slaughterhouse Five). It also allowed the series to get people all intrigued --- like a Twilight Zone mini-series.

Its not hard to chronolog it.. just watch the previews and take notes on Suzumiya's announcement of the next episode -- she's always chronological and Kyon's is going by series schedule dates.

Yes everyone would probably rewatch the show in both chronological and rearranged orders. But I will assure you that it won't be 2x enjoyable watching it chronologically, the show will climax at episode 4,5 and 6, a little excitement near the end. Most probably you will enjoy the show as well, but not more than rearranged.

Yea, alot of us are hoping for a 2nd season and there's stuff in this season that hasn't been explained which would probably need another season for explanation.

But there's no definite answer whether there will be another season.

*breathes into a paper bag* Thanks. Now I hope I can survive the stress of AX and not knowing if I'll be able to watch the afk version. An incredible translation job. And if Steven Foster gets Haruhi, I'm gonna personally put the hurt on him.

I'm primarily concerned because in the spread in Newtype they described the SOS Brigade's full name as "Haruhi Suzumiya's team for livening up the world". Pathetic translation and they called it "Club" not Brigade as in "Club Chief Haruhi Suzumiyu". That wrings it dry of all the character that Haruhi's personality instills it with. I do hope that spread isn't indicative of how it'll be translated for North America.

I just watched the first episode today and it's totally hilarious. I don't remember laughing so hard over the first episode of an anime in a long time. My fav. character so far is the little girl with the grey hair...kinda quiet...was the magician with the cat...

lol nice to hear from another person who appreciates episode 1. Maybe you would like to watch the next 12 episodes in 3 days, so that you can catch up with the last episode, episode 14 on Tuesday/Wednesday.

... okay maybe others too.

Also happy to see someone else who "gets" the first episode.
Watch it again and notice how much work it takes to animate a "poorly filmed student movie".

Nope, but if we get a second season maybe they'll show the making of the movie (which would explain Shamisen).

Some sources claim that it was Haruhi's influence that causes Shamisen to start talking, much like the accidental activation of Mikuru Beam. I'm just curious whether Shamisen is an UMA (Unidentified Mysterious Animal) or just a normal cat.

Just wait for volume 2 to be translated. It will all be answered there.

The thing I have issue with thematically is that the premise of the story reminds me of a munchkinist approach to cosmological structuralism, in that a finite capacity (Haruhi) can effectively determine the near infinite (reality), this already bad enough in a crappy Star Trek episode, let alone an anime. This would have been a great anime with other conditions, but in this case, I'm not a Haruhiist.

hah, you laughed at that episode? no offence, but it didnt interest me.... but for Yuki, yes, shes also my fav character too ^^
anyway, after talking to Deathkillz, would suzumiya have 2nd season for it ><??

You may be too young to understand episode 1 lol, you need to have good knowledge of sentai shows, love dramas, movie making and be at least near otaku level.

Episode 1 is to date the most hiliarious Haruhi episode.
