Clannad: On the Hillside Path that Light Watches Over (PSP)
Official Another Story Clannad: Hikari Mimamoru Sakamichi de
Can't find much more information on this, a set of two sound novel games that are coming out for the PSP in June.
A set of fourteen illustrated short stories which added to Clannad's story were serialized between the September 2004 and October 2005 issues of ASCII Media Works' Dengeki G's Magazine.[26][27] Titled Official Another Story Clannad: On the Hillside Path that Light Watches Over (Official Another Story Clannad 光見守る坂道で Official Another Story Clannad: Hikari Mimamoru Sakamichi de?), there were thirteen regular chapters and one extra bonus chapter. The installments were written by Key's scenario staff and each story was accompanied by illustrations by Japanese artist GotoP. Two more stories were included when they were collected into a 103-page bound volume released on November 25, 2005.[28] The short story collection was later re-released via SoftBank 3G and FOMA mobile phones produced by Prototype through Visual Art's Motto starting in January 2008.[29] One chapter was released weekly with the SoftBank 3G releases three weeks behind the version for FOMA phones, and a version for au phones was released in summer 2008.[30] Prototype will again be re-releasing the short story collection, this time on the PlayStation Portable handheld game console in two volumes, each containing eight chapters including the original art by GotoP. The first volume will be released on June 3, 2010 and the second will follow on June 24, 2010; the re-release is described by the developers as a "visual sound novel".[31]
Although far from adequate, hopefully with a lot of dictionary work, I might actually give the two PSP games a try. Now if only there was a way to AGTH text from a PSP.
These short stories were also adapted into audio dramas also released by Prototype many years ago. I got all 4 volumes plus the limited artbox last year .
Spoiler for Clannad: Another Story Prototype Drama CDs:
Haven't listened to all of the stories yet but the ones I have listened to were mainly on the last volume where the baseball game is played (this was incorporated into the After Story anime series' 1st episode with some slight changes) and the gang going to a public bath house after the match.
Well I'll be damned. I knew they weren't gonna kick Clannad to the curb just yet, not with all of the money to be made and us fans hungry for more. However, most of my intrigue comes from the fact that it's Clannad; there really aren't any details worth clamoring over at the moment. I hope we get more information on this soon.

Well I'm ok with the game and everything, but I'd much prefer to see it animated after the game is released. I hope we do get an OVA or something out of this.
I think some of the material from the drama CD's made it onto the anime.
My memory is a little fuzzy, but I think episode 23 of After Story (the one after the series ends) is basically a retelling of one of the events from the drama CD's. The one with Tomoya and Sunohara trying to pull a prank on the freshmen and Nagisa ends up falling for it...
This might be very late, but I recently picked it up in CH version and would be able to translate into english, would anybody be interested in reading them?
Probably will do Kotomi story next (it's quite short) then the botan ryou everything else and last will be Fuko, just because Fuko talks so weirdly and it will be a pain to translate and edit...
Edit: Didn't post it earlier, sorry.
This is my first time translating, there may be errors everywhere...
Spoiler for Chapter1:
That, Okazaki
Talking with guys is normal.
I had many close male acquaintances when I was a 1st year.
We would always call each other by our first names.
But it seemed like it would cause misunderstandings.
They would mistake that as a sign that I was interested in them.
But I had no such intention.
That was why I was shocked when they suddenly ask, "Please go out with me"
Of course my answer was "No"
And I would later maintain my distance from them.
Friendship between boys and girls was impossible... That was what I believed.
It had probably been from that day on...
That I only called boys by their last names.
"Hey Okazaki, I told you to call me "Kyou". If you keep calling me Fujibayashi it would be confusing."
"Confusing? What do you mean?"
"I have a twin sister."
"Huh?! There's two of your kind?"
Okazaki Tomoya
A infamous delinquent that became my classmate in the 2nd year.
But, he was not the stereotypical delinquent who would dye his hair blond, smoke or get into brawls.
It was probably because this school is prestigious that he would be called a delinquent.
"What is that supposed to mean...."
"Ah,never mind. It only sounded a little dangerous."
"That isn't even a explanation!"
"Well, I never planned to explain anyway."
His only bad point would be his crude style of speaking, but his attitude was quite gentle.
"Can I hit you?"
"Please don't hit me."
It was easy to understand that he was a straightforward person.
Spoiler for Chapter 2:
Boys and Girls can't be friends
At first we were just normal classmates.
Then he became a classmate that always caused me trouble.
Before I realised we were already friends.
Then.........
"Really... How can you sleep on such a hard place."
In the empty courtyard, Okazaki was sleeping on the stone steps.
Sent to look for him by the teacher, I finally found him after searching in many places.
I walked to his side, but he didn't wake up.
I snuck a peek at his face.
"......"
Umm... how should I put it, he is quite handsome.
Long eyebrows, nose sticking out nicely, and the shape of his lips....
Ah, what am I fantasizing about!
*rustle*
Hearing a sound behind me, I hurriedly turned around.
There was a blond-haired boy.He is another delinquent and is always with Okazaki.
"Ahh... Did... I disturb the two of you?"
"Wha...."
My face flushed hearing those words.
"D-don't joke around!"
This is bad! I was been!
Maybe he would lose his memories if i beat him up?
"Hmm... huh?"
Hearing my voice, Okazaki woke up.
"Hm? Fujibayashi and... Sunohara?"
Haruhara:Hey Okazaki, you were almost assaulted by Fujibayashi Kyou you know.
"Huh?"
Okazaki, who was half asleep did not seem to be listening to Haruhara's words.
"W-wha-wha! What are you saying!"
"Eh? It wasn't like that?
"O-of course not! I was only sent to look for him by the teacher!"
"Ho~"
Haruhara looked at me doubtfully.
Looks like he was imagining something bad.
If I stay and longer... the situation would not be headed for a good direction.
"C-Come on! Let's go to the staff room already!
*Pa*
Hiding my blushing face, I grabbed Okazaki's hand and made him follow me.
"Ah, hey! Wai... don't drag me... Oi! Fujibayashi!"
Holding his hand, my hand felt warm... my heart was beating rapidly.
... When did these feeling start appearing.
When I realised it, I was already chasing his back.
Friendship between boys and girls is impossible.
The reason behind this, I probably already knew.
Spoiler for Chapter 3:
Ryou's understanding
"Hah~"
I stretched my back while in in bath.
I saw so tired today after dealing with Okazaki and Haruhara again.
Those two are so much like children....
"Could being a babysitter also be this tiresome..."
"Eh? What are you talking about?"
Ryou, who was washing her hair turned to face me.
"Well, I just felt that taking care of others is very troublesome."
"Did something happen?"
"There are these two troublemakers in the class, and they make me tired day after day."
"Ohh...."
Ryou put out amazed expression, and then rinsed her hair.
"But nee-san, you seem to be quite happy."
"Really?"
"Mm. You don't seem to hate it one bit"
Hearing these words I never thought of made me slightly surprised.
I couldn't help but hide my face in my hands.
"Uhh, well, I really don't hate it?"
At least, I did feel that it was more interesting that the usual boring life.
After rising to my second year, most students become more diligent then the previous year.
Looking at it from that perspective, being with those two felt more closer to a normal students life.
"Um, that, Okazaki-kun right?"
"Eh? What about him?"
"The boy nee-san is interested in."
"Y-you, what are you saying! I am not interested one bit in that kind of guy!"
"Eh? Really? But you have been talking about him a lot recently."
"It's only cause he is a troublesome and, umm... a delinquent too!"
"So it's like that huh. But it's quite rare."
"Why?"
"Nee-san had never spoken so much regarding a boy."
"It's only because... there were no interesting boys to talk about."
"Ehh~. Ah, that's right. I will tell your fortune later."
"What kind of fortune telling?"
"Fortune telling on relationships"
"I beg you please don't...."
Her fortunetelling can be described as horrifying.
No matter the result was good or bad.
Ryou, being denied the chance of telling a fortune, was dejected and drooped her shoulders then started scrubbing her body with a sponge.
"Come to think of it...."
"Hmm?"
I asked after taking a glance at my own chest.
"Ryou... did your bust size increase again?"
"N-n-no, nothing of the sort happened."
Next morning, Ryou came over to my bed smiling cheerfully.
"What is it...? Is it already time to wake up?"
Still half asleep, I looked at the clock.
Ten o'clock, I could still sleep for 10 minutes....
"Umm, I did some fortune telling on nee-san's luck today."
"Oh... Huh?!"
I was shocked awake.
"Ah! huh? You told my fortune?!"
"I can't...?"
"Ah... Ugh... It's not like you can't.."
I already was afraid to hear the result...
"Umm, the result was six of spades, eight of hearts and nine of spades. The meaning is that the nine and six combined to form a eight......
Which is to say, umm today you will be confessed to by a handsome guy."
"C-confession..."
Seeing my shocked face, Ryou giggled.
This fortune telling... How should I interpret it....
A confession... this would mean that I would be confessed to by someone that isn't handsome.
At the very least... it wouldn't end well... probably.
"T-thanks."
I felt my face tense up.
Spoiler for Chapter 4:
Kyou's expectation
-Break time-
I was sitting on my seat, unable to calm down at all....
"Um, Fujibayashi?"
"Huh, what?"
Hearing a classmate's voice suddenly, I was so shocked my shoulder gave a involuntary jerk as I turned to face him.
Surprised by my reaction, the boy took a step back.
"Ah, well, this piece of homework is due today right?"
"A-ahh, Yeah."
I took the homework that he passed to me
I was too nervous...
Although I didn't believe in Ryou's fortune telling.
Or rather, it was because I didn't believe that I was on alert.
A inaccurate fortune telling turned out to be so horrifying....
-- Confession by a handsome guy --
I snuck a peak at a certain seat.
Okazaki... had not yet arrived.
He would probably have already eaten at home....
Ah, what was I thinking about!
H-her fortune telling is never accurate!
"Morning."
*clatter* The classroom door opened.
In came a indifferent Haruhara, even though he was late.
Looking barely awake, wearing a crooked tie... He yawned in front of everyone.
Ahh... What if e confessed to me... that would be the worst....
"What? Is there something on my face?"
"Your nose and eyes and mouth."
"Ehh? That's weird, I already washed my face this morning."
He started wiping his face while speaking.
This guy... really is and idiot...
Haruhara went to his own seat and started looking around.
As if he remembered something, he put his hands together and came over.
"Ah, Class rep."
"What?"
"Okazaki isn't here yet right?"
"Eh? Uh, y-yeah he isn't here yet."
Hearing my reply, Haruhara smirked and whispered
"That guy, he's waiting for you in the courtyard now."
"...... eh?"
"Now, I already relayed the message, kay."
Haruhara went back to his seat after he finished talking.
I was slightly dazed.
I put my thoughts together.
Okazaki had not arrived in class yet....
And was waiting in the courtyard....
Haruhara relayed this to me....
Which means...
"Eh? Fujibayashi-san, where are you going?"
"A-ah, my head hurts slightly, so I am doing to the washroom."
Slowly, naturally... I tired my best to act natural walking out of the classroom.
The moment I left, I ran through the corridors.
Okazaki... was waiting for me in the courtyard?
Ryou's fortune telling was... that I would be confessed to by a handsome guy.
But her predictions were always inaccurate.
It never was accurate even once.
But... what if...
Out of a thousand, no a million times it could be accurate once.
Just maybe, this might be that moment....
Nearing the courtyard, I slowed down my pace and adjusted my breathing.
If he noticed that I ran here, that would be beyond embarrassing.
My breathing was back to normal, but my heart was still beating uncontrollably.
It wasn't because Okazaki was waiting that I... Anyway it most likely wouldn't be a confession.
But... he fact that he chose the empty courtyard made it hard to think otherwise...
What, what should I do... Although I already brushed my teeth in the morning, but it was nearing noon already...
Will it matter.. is it fine... Ah! that kind of thing won't suddenly happen!
... probably....
Speaking of which...
"Where could he be?"
I had searched the courtyard, but I didn't find a single person.
Maybe he went to the washroom....
Or... maybe he was being shy so he hid himself?
That's alright, I could take the chance to calm my still rapidly beating heart.
I sat on a stone pavement and rested for a while.
I unconsciously... no, consciously took a deep breath.
Time passed minute by minute.
Spoiler for Chapter 5:
Uu, Tomoya
The bell... had rang.
It was the bell sounded for class ending.
Which meant... I waited in the courtyard for one hour alone.
Thinking through all the possibilities... this most likely was...
A prank by that idiot Haruhara.
"Fu...fufu... fufufu..."
I forcefully gripped the edge of the pavement.
"All right... First I will poke his eyes out, then strangle him and finally rip out his tongue....
Wobbling slightly, I stood up and headed back to the classroom with balled fists.
But the moment I entered the corridor.
"Hmm? Fujibayashi."
I met Okazaki.
My face flushed red instantly.
"Eh... Ah... Umm... Did you... just arrive?"
I asked him seeing the bag in his hand.
"Ahh, yeah... What about you? Did you come in from the sickbay?"
"Eh, W-why?"
"Your face is very red. And the direction you came from, that isn't the way from the classrooms."
"I-it's not red at all!"
Anger and embarrassment... various feelings mixing together, my voice started sounding hoarse.
"Really? Don't push yourself too hard."
"....."
How cunning....
This guy... Okazaki may speak crudely, but was also used gentle and kind words at times.
"Leaving that aside, it seems like your partner is in for some bad luck."
"What do you mean?"
Okazaki titled his neck and followed me into the classroom.
Opening the door, that blond idiot looked here in shock.
He probably didn't imagine that the two of us would come in together.
Smirking while I returned to my seat, I took out the English-Japanese dictionary that should have been used in the previous class.
Ahh, this weight feels just right
The next instant, Haruhara lied on the ground unconscious.
"Are you an idiot?"
Okazaki looked blankly at Haruhara who was kneeling on the floor.
"Yes I am a idiot."
"Speaking of which, Fujibayashi. Why did you believe Sunohara's words."
"Y-you're so nosy... I was only acting as the class representative and looking for you."
"And you searched for me for a whole hour huh."
"Ah that's... Y-yeah! It's because I am the class representative so... um... I should bring you to class of course."
"So because of this you skipped a class. Isn't that counter productive?"
"In other people's eyes, it looks like you two were skipping class to flirt together ya know."
"Huh?!"
"Hiee~!"
Okazaki and I glared at the gloating Haruhara.
It was the usual routine.
The anxiousness I had in the courtyard had faded.
I realised I was slight disappointed, but at the same time was relieved.
Yes, at least we could continue being in this carefree relationship.
"Ah, by the way, Okazaki... I was always wondering..."
"Hmm?"
"That 'Sunohara' you keep talking about, who is he?"
"Asking this right in front of the me, you are bullying me right!"
"... Ehh? Aren't you called 'Haruhara'?"
"No-"
"Ah, ah, 'Sunohara' is just his nickname."
"Please don't lie so naturally."
"What a troublesome surname. I will just call you by your given name then...
So what's your name?"
"Don't you think what you just said was very rude?"
"Ah, right, from today on wards I will call you 'Tomoya' then. This will be more comfortable."
"Hah. Whatever suits you."
"Mm, Tomoya. Ah, I already said it before, you can just call me 'Kyou'."
At least, I progressed a little bit.
For now, staying like this is just fine.
Firstly, lets understand him more by being friends.
Slowly understanding is fine.
If i were to be too hasty in making progress, I may lose something important.
I only hope that I won't regret this....
Because returning would be much harder than progressing.
This might be very late, but I recently picked it up in CH version and would be able to translate into english, would anybody be interested in reading them?
I'm certainly interested in an English translation.
Any updates on how the other story translations are coming along?
Not to nag, but is there any progress being made on the translations at all? I searched the Internet and found that only 6 of the 15 short stories from On the Hill that Light Watches Over have ever been translated into English. The rest have remained untranslated for years.
This might be very late, but I recently picked it up in CH version and would be able to translate into english, would anybody be interested in reading them?
I'm gonna assume you're never going to bother translating this again, considering that you made this post almost two whole years ago and only one story was translated this whole time.
...I grabbed a copy of the book and will be trying my hardest to translate the remaining untranslated short stories. My knowledge of Japanese is rather limited, but I think I can find someone to help me out with the English translations. Anybody else who feels like contributing to the effort, reply back in this thread.
