Official livestream confirmed the anime version will air in April 2020, and will feature the original Moscow Combat Revue.
Given Shin Sakura's English release is for Q2/Spring 2020, I wonder if the EN version will release around the same month as the anime so they tie in with each other. |

All the Combat Revue members of the previous games, even the Paris and New York City branches, went missing 10 years prior when they marched forth to stop the Kouma War. Smells like brainwashing of the highest order. Sega even asked Sakura's VA, Yokoyama Chisa, to return for the game. Spoiler for Game spoiler cutscene:

Finished the game, or at least cleared it once and got an ending.
While I liked the game overall, it felt very uneven. It probably needed some more time with writing the story to make it flow better. I think it might have become a little better near the end, or that could just be me getting used to it. Also, please make the battles more responsive in controls. At times it fells like I'm mashing the button to change characters and it takes forever to register. Like, it won't register mid animation for something. Guess I'm just sitting here and waiting for New Sakura Wars 2 now then. Hopefully Sega will release a remaster of the old games in between, since the old cast might have a bigger role(or rather a role at all) the next game. |

The devs say with the "base" establishing story now set via this game, they're hoping to see what they can do next. Plus witer Ishii Jirou says he has plenty of ideas for a next half. https://www.siliconera.com/project-s...t-development/ I suspect that unlike the self-contained villain plots of the previous games, this time the devs want to do an overarching greater plot stretching across several games. It would explain some of the mysteries you mention in the spoilers. PS. Do you think Shin Sakura has a chance with Western gamers? I ask this because Spoiler for Brand of humour:

How do I explain it, it feels rushed at parts. It's like there are set key events they want to reach, but the inbetweens of those events are a bit sloppy. It would need some more passes of the script to make the transitions smoother? And while Sakura Wars is very cliche, some parts are a little too cliche and I wouldn't mind if they took a small step back. I feel it's good, but with a little more work it could be great instead. New Sakura Wars is definitely not going to be stand alone games series, this game is very much a part one story. I dunno, depends on the player. I mean, nearly all bath scenes are completely optional. Just stay away from the bath, and if you accidentally triggers one you can always just turn around and walk out. And when you can peep on girls, it's completely up to the player. Just don't do it. The game isn't really forcing you. Although someone will always take issues regarding these things. |

Spoiler for Spoiler:
Personally I've no problems with the bath scenes, I think they are very funny (haven't played the game, but have seen the Youtube cutscenes). Just concerned about people making a mountain out of a molehill over the comedy being sexually inappropriate or something like that. PS. I also assume that like the previous games, any future entry in Shin Sakura will let you carry over your romances from the previous game. (Just like Bioware's Mass Effect series too!) |

Overall, it was good IMO. Like LROlsson said though, some things could have been done better. But I still really enjoyed it and hope it will be a success. Its clear that this isn't a stand alone game
with there being some foreshadowing and hints for future games. Also I hope that the other countries kagekidan will have more focus. I especially like Elise and Lancelot Last edited by iko_uwais; 2019-12-18 at 07:47. |

Not that much overall, it's flow is mostly the same but it's cutting out a lot of the fat and goes on a very fast pace.
The biggest difference is that the first chapter takes place before the game and the way Sakura and Kamiyama has their reunion in a completely different way. |
