Ocha ken!

But seriously. Why?

Nudity won't hurt children. Not that you should show them Green Green (actually they might like it ) or anything but most anime should be ok.

I would actually show the first season of Naruto. Sure it has lots of violence but it does extremly well in showing the negative consequences of it.

Trying to "protect" kids from sex and violence does not work. Kids over 5 are as smart as you and me. Give them anything that doesn't give them nightmares and they'll be fine.

Well, Totoro is a well known and hugely popular children's anime. 9 year olds will watch it over and over and over and over and over and over again, and still want to watch it. There's no violence at all. Parents generally love it, and most of them enjoy watching it too.

However... there's a bath scene with nudity. It's not ecchi in any way. I haven't heard anyone (ie. Parents) ever complain about it, and I've read A LOT of totoro reviews (some from good parenting and even religious sites)

Ok but my point is if the kids like it it's probably good for them.

You know these kids better than anyone on the forum so just give them the stuff YOU belive they'll like. My guess is a 7 year old would be bored to death by a shows like bottle fairy and ocha ken.

Dragon Drive.

A good classic little kids anime show. Does have violence. It's sorta like Digimon...

I can name one: Earth Defense Force Mao-chan (sold in the U.S. as simply "Mao-chan")

You aren't going to find much appealing to Traditional Christian Family Ideals for the simple reasons that:

1) Japan has no Christians to speak of
2) Japan had no Victorian era

Yeah, I agree...

Besides.. What's considered "okay for children to watch" is much different in Japan. If there's nudity or jokes related to it or things like that.. It can still be a children's show.

And you can't keep children from seeing violence. They will see it on TV, they'll see it in real life.. It's not something you can avoid.. But I think that if you are concerned, you can keep them from seeing what I call "gratuitous" violence. I don't think there's a lot of that type of violence in anime, as much as people think there is... And if there is, it's usually in series that kids probably wouldn't like anyway.

As for nudity.. I don't think it will traumatize them to see someone naked ^^;; ... I mean, it's natural after all. And if children go to a pool and they change in the changing room, they will -have- to see naked people.. :P You can look at it this way. There's no reason why children couldn't see it.. ^^;;;

And I agree with U&T... I mean, children aren't stupid. They know about things. ::

meh there was gonna be a long post here about why you shouldnt show it to kids but i suddenly realised that I would be preaching to children that are like 7 to 10 years older from the kid in question.....
So instead ill say this.
The human mind is verry complex and it is verry hard to say what kind of role it will play in your life if your exposed to adult content early on but its almost always a bad 1 because even though you get the same information your mind does not yet fully understand right from wrong thus puts it in a verry diferent perspective from yours...... anyway its getting late ima hit the sack soon see ya
