ABC's Matt Gutman said the network re-digitized the video to reveal what appears to be "a pair of gashes or welts" on the back of Zimmerman's head. This discovery is more consistent with Zimmerman's account of what happened the night of Feb. 26. According to a police report first described by the Orlando Sentinel, Zimmerman told investigators that Martin jumped him from behind, punched him in the nose and pounded his head into the sidewalk.

I don't know, there is some things that work against that. First, they say "they appear to be gashes or welts" but we don't know that for sure, but like I was saying, there are some things that work against that. For one, the funeral director said that Trayvon's body showed no signs of a physical fight.

However, if there was a physical altercation, some things about that...for one, Zimmerman changed his account on that. One account he gave, he said he followed the teen, lost the teen, and then went to check the street he was on, and then was jumped from behind and beat by Trayvon. Then, in a different account, Zimmerman said that he followed the teen, lost the teen, and then the teen jumped out in front of him and asked "Do you have a problem?" and Zimmerman says he said "No." and then he says that Trayvon said "Well you do now" and then attacked him. Zimmerman, which account is it?

However, neither account is true if we look at what Trayvon's girlfriend says:

http://globalgrind.com/news/trayvon-...ks-out-details

Quote:
Trayvon’s 16-year-old girlfriend, who is only being identified as DeeDee, recounted the final moments of her conversation with Trayvon before the line went dead.

DeeDee told ABC News:

"When he saw the man behind him again he said this man is going to do something to him. And then he said this man is still behind him and I said run."

Phone records have shown that DeeDee called Trayvon at 7:12 p.m., five minutes before police arrived, and remained on the phone with Martin until moments before he was shot.

DeeDee said Martin turned around and asked Zimmerman why he was following him. "The man said what are you doing around here?" DeeDee recalled Zimmerman saying.

DeeDee said she heard someone pushed into the grass before the call was dropped.
Now, Zimmerman has already lied a number of times about things involving this incident. On top of this, Zimmerman said that in the altercation, he was screaming for help and pleading and that Trayvon wasn't, yet 2 experts have confirmed that the one screaming for help and pleading in the 911 call is not Zimmerman, so thus, it was Trayvon. That is just one more lie out of several from Zimmerman involving this incident. So who do you believe, Zimmerman and his account of being attacked by Trayvon out of the blue, or Trayvon's girlfriend and her account of what she heard on the phone. I believe Trayvon's girlfriend. And Trayvon was crying for help and pleading for his life shortly before he was shot. Did Zimmerman shoot because he was in great danger? Or did he shoot Trayvon when he had the upperhand? Eyewitnesses said the teen was shot shortly after crying for help and pleading for his life. Doesn't sound like Trayvon had the upper hand right before being shot.

When you start looking at different things like that, looking at what "appear to be" welts on the back of Zimmerman's head during one part of the video doesn't do much for some of us. We don't know for sure if those are welts on the back of Zimmerman's head, but we do know that he is a liar. We know that he followed and stalked the teen when he was told not to. We know that Trayvon was pleading for his life shortly before being shot. We know that Zimmerman should have been arrested and should have been scheduled for a trial before this became a huge national story.

Edit: I'm really baffled about that still shot showing the supposed welt on Zimmerman's head. If you watch that video, you don't see such a stand-out mark on Zimmerman's head at any part of the video that shows that part of Zimmerman's head. It is like they took a still image from the video, enhanced the video, and then digitally enhanced the part of his head that looks like a welt, but highlighted it with different colored pixels, but when people see it, they think "Oh wow, there is a big welt there!". Like Dhomochevsky said, we don't need abcnews scoping out the video or the media trying to piece together things. We just need Zimmerman on trial and the experts trying to figure out what happened that day (to the best they can).

Of course he is still being tried by the court of public opinion. Did the Prosecutor leave the case, because there was a rumor about that.

I'd just like to say: Zimmerman sucks. If he just stayed in his car and away from Trayvon like the police told him to, the real police would have shown up, they'd question Trayvon, things would likely be no big deal, we wouldn't have this thing become a national spectacle, and so forth.

There are more fatties than previously thought because BMI underestimates obesity. Hello Land of the Fat.

But most personal trainers, nutritionists, ... in other words, *people who actually have the training* do nothing but make fun of the BMI measurement as applied to individuals. It is one of those statistical thingies that insurance companies and less well-educated doctors cling to. They almost universally recommend caliper-type fat measurement at key body points.

Its not a bad arm-waving rough rule-of-thumb though.

Fatboy Kim's gonna launch his toy rocket soon. Hooboy, he'll be having a bucket of fried chicken while watching the action from the control room.

In the "if we were a monopoly it would save you money" fantasy news destined to empty the pockets of consumers even faster, instead of *competing* in a well-regulated free market - the monoliths simply consume each other via buyouts until there's one large ugly seamonkey left in the tank.

short summary, FTC fails to protect Main Street against Wall Street -
Quote:
Two of the biggest behind-the-scenes players in the health care industry have become one.
Express Scripts sealed its long-planned deal to buy Medco Health Solutions on Monday after the Federal Trade Commission voted 3-1 that it would not stifle competition in the industry. The two companies already provide prescription drug benefit services to some 135 million people — more than 1 out of every 3 Americans.
But while the FTC might not think the $29 billion union of Express Scripts and Medco threatens the market for how prescription drugs are distributed to patients, owners of brick-and-mortar drugstores certainly do.
The National Association of Chain Drug Stores and National Community Pharmacists Association have been running a furious lobbying campaign against the deal for months called Too Big To Play Fair. They insist their members cannot compete with the much larger pharmacy benefit managers, and particularly those firms' mail-order pharmacies.
In fact, owing to a contract dispute, patients whose pharmacy benefits are handled by Express Scripts are currently unable to purchase drugs at Walgreens, the nation's largest pharmacy chain. Medco customers, however, will apparently continue to have access to Walgreens, at least until current contracts expire, even under the merged entity.
Meanwhile, the community pharmacy groups say they will persist with a lawsuit filed last week in federal district court in Pennsylvania, despite the fact that the deal is now complete.
A statement issued Monday by the NACDS and NCPA said they "and the other plaintiffs will file a motion with the court today, requesting that the judge direct Express Scripts and Medco to keep separate their assets pending review of the lawsuit and/or schedule an expedited review of the merits of our case."
So what might this mean for consumers? As Rachel Lippmann noted in Shots last fall, the two companies say the deal will help control health care costs, but it remains to be seen whether bigger will actually be better.

*There goes the neighborhood, Jack* springs to mind with this article for some reason.

One day, I hope, these giants will find themselves face to face with a country that cares. Not this one, certainly, but some distant future... that or the/a/some apocalypse.

Honecker widow Margot defends communist East Germany

Whoa, she's very ignorant. Doesn't she realize it was East Germany's refusal to allow their people freedom and visiting their West Germany/Berlin relatives that made many escape to the west.

You do know the border was around West Berlin and between West and East Germany, not around East Berlin, don't you?

Maybe she missed the days where she was served jelly doughnuts with caviar while the people out there had to queue for bread.

Are we?
I guess because it would cost hugely more to go through the legal work needed to disown her, than just pay her for the few years she's got left to live.
Besides her being a stupid bitch is no good grounds to start that legal action on, sadly.

Of course, the House of Rep. would reject the notion of supporting privacy when it comes to Facebook.

Breaching privacy follows in line, with the Supreme Court decision today - which allows the police and jailors to strip search people, even for minor offenses. The decision was 5-4 and the 5 consists of the "conservative" judges. So, among the "conservative" base, there is an ever greater push towards police state policies.

And today:

Arizona is looking to outlaw "trolling":
http://techland.time.com/2012/04/03/...rnet-trolling/

America is heading towards some very very dangerous waters.

EDIT: Oh wow.

Yea, you read the link. "Az. Official Considers Expanding Ban on Ethnic Studies to Universities".
