Most people seem think the second stature is madara, i'm not sure.

What's the nature of Rock Lee's "handicap"? Is it just a matter of practice (ie he can eventually learn to use jutsu)? Because obviously he can mold chakra, so why can't he just take it a step further through training? He's still young after all, so he has time, I think.

I think the big issue was that Lee plain did not have any talent or affinity for genjutsu or ninjutsu. Perhaps he could eventually use the two in time, but I doubt it. It might even be a physical handicap, but to be honest, Im not completely sure myself. I recall either neither the show nor the manga specifically stating the exact reason behind his anability to use them, aside from the fact that he just can't do them (which is why Gai took him under his wing in the first place).

My guess is that he just has no natural talent for either of the too. It's too bad, because given how smart he is, he would be quite formidable if he could learn them later on. However, I think it would take a lot of the lustre out of his character.

Rock Lee, smart!?!? Have we been reading the same comic? The impression I got from Lee is that he's incredibly stupid... Not that I don't love his character; on the contrary, hes my second favorite, but he seems really really dumb to me. All he does is hit stuff, and if that doesn't work, he runs faster and hits harder. Sure, hes good at analyzing attacks (or analysing if you're from across the pond) but he rarely changes his own tactics and he never ever thinks more than one move ahead. Compare that to the legitimately clever characters like Naruto, Kakashi, and Shikamaru, who have been shown to think at least 3 moves ahead all the time...

Rock Lee in the databooks had a 1.5 in intelligence/cunning. So he is well below average and I doubt he improved much over the TJ in that department. He ranks just ahead of Naruto, Kiba, and Chouji. He seems to have a much better grasp of things than Naruto, but lacks the latter's ingenuity when it comes to fighting.

I hate the databooks. Naruto is unbelievably smart...he just doesn't listen or pay attention very well. The only things that he's ever learned are things that hes learned for himself, either by noticing something that someone else does on his own, by thinking it up originally on the spot, or by experiencing it practically (like the way Jiraiya walked him through the rasengan training,

But yea, some people just only learn practically. I know I have difficulty fully grasping a concept unless I've put it to practice...I'm not incapable of learning without it but some people are. However, whenever he learns something, he always comes up with innovative ways to put it to practical application...and thats the sign of a truly brilliant mind.

No, they didn't... Sasuke learned in less than a month what took Lee years to master. Neji was able to defeat Lee for years despite the fact that Lee trained two or more times as much as Neji.

Plus, it was stated that Lee has no natural talent for any aspect of being a ninja in the flashbacks that surrounded his fight against Gaara.

Also, I'm amazed that you haven't picked up on the fact that a trickster is just a very clever person who likes to use unconventional and surprising tactics. However, if its your opinion that Naruto isn't clever, you're entitled to it.

Lee started working hard the right way only lately. Neji and Sasuke, because of their bloodlines and families, were able to work the right way for a long time, much longer than Lee. In other words, Sasuke and Neji maybe worked a lot more than Lee, if you take into account those long years. And, using that trained body of his and Sharingan to imitate the muscles, in addition to being able to use other ninja skills as well, to achieve what Lee achieved shouldn't be considered as a miracle.

Again, Lee is more intelligent than Naruto. If you still consider the opposite, and you are satisfied with that, then, good luck with your assumptions.

remember when Yamoto and Kakashi said to Naruto about each Ninja having a element to use for his own Ninjustu, and Naruto's being Wind. Rock Lee might not have an Element at all. quite simply if you don't have one, then you can't create or mix or control your own chakra. thats my feeling towards it.

Yes, Kakashi doing the lotus was filler. I don't see the problem with Katon. Kakashi never said he didn't master Fire. He only said something like : "I can handle more than Lightning", which we knew already.

Do they need to?

Kakashi has already used water-based, earth-based, and lightning-based techniques. In other words, he was shown to do three of those elementals in the manga. So, doing the fire shouldn't be considered as a big deal...If he wants to become as good as his dad, he needs to, at least, be able to use all the elementals...

I think I figured it out, to some degree.

Yondaime has the ability to call on the most power and most dangerous Jutsu that he himself created, the Demonic Soul Seal (Fuuinjutsu Shiki Fuujin), the Jutsu that sealed Kyuubi inside Naruto. This Jutsu allows the user to call upon a Shikigami or "Death God" which joins with the actions of the user. Shikigami reaches into an outline of a soul in front of him which is actually the user. The Shikigami's hand goes into the enemy's stomach where from it literally rips the soul out. The souls of both the user and the target are kept in the belly of the Shikigami, and will suffer for all eternity in the belly of the Shikigami never gaining release, hating each other and battling for all of eternity.

We saw the way the third performed this and the sealing marks which were left on his stomach match the marks left on naruto's. The user has to hold on the the person or thing they are trying to place in the seal. It grabs them and pulls them into the users stomach and those seal signs come up. Only one other person has done this and it was the third but he died for orochimaru's sword, not the jutsu, so we really haven't seen the after effects of the jutsu persay, just what is believed to happen.

Let me share with you first the conversation that kisame had with itachi before they went after naruto the first time in episode 83. Then you might figure it out as well.

KISAME: "perhaps you can fight "HIM" evenly, but i cannot, "HE'S" to strong."

ITACHI: " Yes. If we both fought him, we would both be killed or in a good case, we might kill him but we'd die along with him. Even if we had more men, the result would not change."

KISAME: " his caretaker is a legendary sannin. Konoha's uchiha clan and the mists seven shinobi-gatana seem petty before his name"

The person they are talking about is naruto, not the fox because you don't hear them say "it" they say "his he him" ect....
HIs caretaker , the legendary sannin, is jiraya, who was the fourths sensi..hmmm, caretaker, sensi.. hmmm
The reason why the fox was not sealed away for eternity is because thats not the way the jutsu works it is just believed to be that way but no one has ever had the opportunity to see its full effects( remember the third died from or's sword not the demonic soul seal jutsu ), he was sealed away within the user the fourth HOKAGE. Naruto is the FOURTH HOKAGE!!! That is why itachi and kisame were talking about him in that sense. The effects of the jutsu probably transformed him to his youth or something, maybe to counteract the fact that death devours his life, or maybe that it how it devours it. Im not to sure about everything yet but I know KNOW KNOW that the fourth is within naruto, or in fact is naruto tranformed to youth with the combination of the 9 tails to create a new child. ....when you look at his face doesn't he look to have some of the quailites of a fox, big eyes, a face that almost looks like he has whiskers and the quailities of the fourth hokage as well.. eyes, hair, ...his unwavering desire to become hokage the ability to use Rasengan!! I am a fucking genius.

We're going to find out the rest in some time, but besure that the fourth is either inside naruto or in fact is naruto at youth.

well first off im positive the whole convo of itachi and kisame in regards of dying in combat were about jiraya (i am pretty sure of that) and the basis of that part of your theory is that they didnt want to confront naruto because of his abilites

well then just after this itachi has this convo wiv kisame after engaging jiraya

kisame - "why must we retreat"

kisame - "you couldve...."

itachi - "there is no need to hurry, with naruto at his current level"

wiv that dialogue he doesnt seem too worried about engaging naruto in a fight

but a good point about the effects of the death god jutsu in relation to the 3rd's death

From what iv'e heard in the series that second statue was an uchiha. Kakashi explains a little when he pick up naruto after the fight there, Plus he really looks like sasuke, if sasuke was old and his hair had the opportunity to grow he would look exactly like him.
