Yep. People can still reasonably be expected to be out of town for New Years, so rather than have them miss an episode, they're running other programming instead. Which in NHKs case, includes marathoning the half of Log Horizon's second that's aired so far:

I always thought they were just trying to line up the remaining 12 eps with the start of next season which most shows down start until this upcoming week.

Episode 14 is the total compile of Vol 9. It is really rushed. It skipped alot.

Yeah, that was a really weird decision they made. Were they trying to push the Genii into the storyline? Was there some other reason for that?

And it's not even like you could say "DEEEEEEN," because all the directing/storyline staff are the same as last season's and are unrelated to DEEN.

Hey, so there's this character in Log Horizon - he kinda looks like Beethoven. He's a classical composer, and I think as a result is a bard. Anyone know who this guy is?

Okay, I know that this may sound like a long shot to ask; but does anyone know the broadcast time of when Log Horizon normally airs in Japan?

Episode 24 is delayed by 5 hours by the time I post this, because of a High School Baseball game being broadcasted. And Baseball is HUGE in Japan. Like how the NFL is big in the US. Or how big the English Premier League is in Great Britain.
