Yeah it's a piece that's been used a few times already. Glad they used it during Gaius' death speech. Worked quite well.

Excellent episode the biggest bad ass of them all returns Ogam FTW. I really wanted to see him beat the Golem in his true form though. But still he returned and handed all authority over Arthur.

Like everyone did i enjoyed the sweet moments between Morgan and Octavia but i didnt get Yuri vibes at all from it. I pretty much thought of it as a bond between sisters which they basically are now. There are no other female warriors besides the two they were destined to become close with one another. With Octavia's short game and Morgans long range game a solider would be lucky to get even close to them.

Arwan as usually knows how to make entrance (that poor random solider in the front of the door) Arwan left the fight to Arthur and i see why he did once we got the explanation behind little king. It was fairly obvious from the start that Arwan was grooming Arthur for a greater role Ogam also knows this. In order for others to accept Arthur in time as king he needs to lead. Hence him leading the rescue and him being on the front line at all times and most important seeing that Arthur would defend his people at all cost in other words he needs to show kingly attributes.

The fight with Gaius has always been Arthur's fight to fight not Arwan's which was obvious by Arwan not lifting a finger to fight him and calling him "mortal". Once Gaius figured out that in order to win he didn't need to beat Arwan but Arthur who was a direct challenge to Gaius walking the road of a king.

I knew how the fight was going to end once it started and i knew the killing blow would be abdomen either from left to right or right to left. Gaius's sword technique is indeed fearsome but leaves several holes. The way Gaius compensates is by fighting in a 360 degree circle because of the size of the sword its hard if not damn impossible to get close to him. Also, with his power even if you block you get tossed around like a rag doll. When i saw how calm Arthur was doing his fight i could see how over time his skills and attitude has changed. Gaius sword technique has a fatal its the vertical attack swing a sword around takes less effort the 3rd and 4th time because of inertia but swinging it down then up takes more effort all Arthur had to do was wait for the right moment side step and slash at the most vulnerable sport the stomach.

Good episode i felt Gauis's speech was a little long winded but still good. I half heartedly wished Gaius would have told Decimus to join Arthur because he would be a king worth serving.

I'm still wonder how did Araw detroyed that gigiantic door or gate. It not like it's just some normal door that can be knock down easily, Gaius had to use that big thing to detroy it for God sake. And when he looked at Gaius in the eye and called him mortal. Did he get his power back or he's just that strong to begin with.

Looking at the events in prior episodes preceding this, I would say that he is that strong. I presume that he did not think it necessary to use his capabilities earlier. The one time that he decided to use them when they fought the dead Gael informs us that he has been holding back all this while.

in eps 18, Ogam is cool, Octavia is elegant, Morgan is agile, Gaius is ... , the rest of the chars are helpful, Arawn is awaken and Arthur might become who i think he will be

a very good eps

another thing i realise is how smooth the actions have been in the entire series, especially the sword fight

While I do think that Arawn has been holding back on demonstrating his power, we can't assume that the gate explosion was evidence of this. Remember, as the owner of Avalon castle, the gates are magically keyed to respond to him. Arawn probably didn't have to exert that much power to explode the gate since he already magically controls it.

I agree i think he used very little magic to make the gate explode but he achieved what i think is the desired result. There was a brief pause in the fighting due the explosion that stopped the enemy forces dead in their tracks.

Well, at the end of the opening there's a sword in a stone (Excalibur, if I remember correctly) in the middle of what looks like Stonehenge.

As far as the round table goes, if you're talking about the specific knights that make up the table, I'm not sure. I don't know if they'll stay totally true to the legends about that or not. It seems like he already has his round table, but its quite obviously made up of different people.

Ep 19 review

Spoiler for EP 19 review:

As Avalon is being rebuilt, Arthur apologizes to his sister for not coming back in time but she forgives him since she always knew he would come back. As Riannon helps out the Houses elves. We learn that both Arthur& Riannon love flowers since they were children & Riannon claims that both Arthur & Arwan are the most important people to her(so not only is she devoted to her husband but she's also devoted to her brother... I smell Brother complex). During a meeting, Decimus, Gaius 2nd in command (who looks like is now working with the Gaels) reports to them on what's happening at the Empire.

The incident at what happen at the Senate & the deaths of half of the Senators has put the empire into Chaos & worse a force from the North called the Dark Army has plans to invade Londium has force most of the citizens of the city to flee for safety. Arwan believes this is the work of a person called "White Ghost" (or is it White Angels since i'm not sure of the subs) who may have summon the army using the same type of spell that awaken him in the first ep & is (or is it were) responsible for Arthur father's death. Realizing they can't fight the Dark army at Avalon since it's still damaged from Gaius invasion, Ogam suggest they fight the army at the mountains. The reason is because the mountains contains a elvish spell that kept snow from the Ice age, and they want to use the snow to burying the Dark army by avalanche using themselves as bait . But in order to do that, they also need the help of mystical creatures that live at the mountains to break the spell.

Before they begin their journey tomorrow, Llyr & Rathy enjoys some Apple pies made by the elves & Riannon has a talk with Taelsin. At first he thinks she wants to have an affair with him (

good thinking!) but she wants to know why the song he's playing is full of sadness. He tells her that he is scared about his cursed fate to die horribly & wonders if he can change it. Riannon uses her powers to see his future on his behalf & learns there's nothing he can't do to change it. Despite the news, Taelsin tells her he is not afraid anymore.

When he meets Epona, he starts to make fun of her again & she angrily ask why is she the only Elf he likes to make fun of even he's nice to the others. He explains that when he was younger, he saw an Elf singing with a beautiful voice under the moonlight. This incident made him interested to become a bard & Epona reminds him of that singing elf which Epona doesn't think its her. But when Taelsin leaves, Epona starts to sing the same song the Taelsin heard years ago & Taelsin quietly confirms that it was her all along.

The next day, the gang which now includes Taelsin but not Decimus arrives at a cave at the snowy mountains. As they journey deeper into the cave, Taelsin leaves the group when he hears something from another part of the cave. He arrives to find a Dragon skeleton protecting it's nest which has 4 eggs. One of the eggs starts to crack open, revealing a baby Dragon who's starts to take a liking with Taelsin(looks like Ogam isn't the last dragon anymore.). The dragon suddenly starts running which Taelsin follows it to a hidden door to a prison. A hologram starts to play infront of Taelsin & the dragon of a person who's covered in shadows who calls himself "Lucifer" & tells him about a secret that nobody knows. Also New ED is finally showing!

ah, so Decimus is with them now. . . which I find really awkward since he's allying himself with the people who pretty much killed his beloved superior.

Epona, aside from her singing voice not matching her character, I just couldn't take someone who's singing like that with baggy pants on seriously.

new ed was rather dull (meh~ eventually I'll get used to it..)

preview: more people in white and looks like will be looking into Arawn's past (it's about damn time!)

xizro345 King's Justice Join Date: Apr 2004	Comparison time! Spoiler for anime-PS3 comparison: In the game you actually see Ogam fighting the Electrum Golem, but it's a pretty short fight. Gaius never manages to break the gates but he's about to succeed when Arthur arrives. There's a battle before Arthur goes into his speech mode, where the Gaels have to dispose of the troops on the way. The Octavia-Morgan scene is present but with less "undertones" as Octavia was already Arawn's wife at this point. Arawn actually electrocutes the ram instead of blowing it up. The Gaius - Arawn speech is similar, afterwards it's different though: it's a boss battle against Gaius, his troops and Decimus, with some reinforcements coming every turn. And of course the whole group including Taliesin (who is one of the most useful playable characters, his songs are incredibly useful) fights Gaius. Gaius collapses immediately after the battle, and his speech to Decimus (who never shows his face in the game, that has been corrected in Tears to Tiara Gaiden), along with the following speech to Arawn, is identical. That said, I'll be on holiday starting tomorrow for two weeks with little net connection, so I'm not sure I'll be able to do more comparisons till I get back.

Also New ED is finally showing! Spoiler for My thoughts: A very nice calm before the storm episode. Looks like some fans wishes for Deciumus to join up with Arthur & the Gaels came true. I love the TaelsinxEpona moment between the two but i find it a little weird that when she sings, since her powerful singing voice doesn't fit her character. Ofcourse we're all interested on who this "Lucifer" is but we can all probably guess who it is. Spoiler for Next Week: Next week is flashback episode with Ogam, Arwan & his father Myrddin. Spoiler for Animax Preview: The epsidoe is set 1000 years ago & explains how Arwan & Primula meet & how Myrddin died. __________________

And what's more, we get a new ED! \o/ Spoiler for episode 19: I think Taliesin teasing Epona was rather cute, and what a surprise to hear Epona sing in a really haunting voice; it's so different from her usual chirpy voice. I hope they end up together despite Taliesin's curse. I'm not sure what's significant about the baby dragon (maybe Ogam will have a "grandchild" to look after? Or maybe they thought it's time this show gets a mascot ) but it looks like we'll finally get Arawn's full back story in the next episode. Also we have the new ED this week! In terms of animation there isn't a whole lot of movement but the song was nice. The girls are grouped according to a season a la Art Nouveau, with Riannon representing Winter, Octavia and Morgan as Spring, Llyr and Rathy as Summer, and Ermin and Limwris as Fall. Epona is there too but she's only shown looking up at the moon which I thought was a little odd given the whole season's theme. Last edited by Mangaka-chan; 2009-08-09 at 14:58.
