Could happen. They skipped a lot in the first and second OVAs as well. Mainly the first.

Not gonna bother pointing them out.

That's another reason why I think it was a bad idea to have the OAV's focus on the very beginning of the Magic World arc. After seeing pictures of the third OAV, it's obvious that with the exception of Yue's storyline (which will receive its own OAV), SHAFT is cramming everything in the awful "Let's separate everyone" portion of the Magic World arc into four OAV episode. Sure, this does mean that Nodoka-chan will likely show up in the fourth OAV episode. However, the sad truth is that the Magic World arc is not something that can be completely told with just five OAV's and a movie.

To me, I've felt that the better aproach is to summarize the "Let's separate everyone" portion to as a prologue to the OAV series (although I'd keep the Yue storyline as a separate OAV) and instead have the first OAV focus on Negi and his group facing Fate, his Ministra Magi, and Tsukuyomi.

I wouldn't like this. I dunno why they don't make a full anime series of this already, just like FMA: Brotherhood.

Well for one, it's still going to be nowhere near over even by the time it's animated up to the current point. There's at the very least two more years left in this series, and probably a fair bit more. We've got at least 3 or 4 months more for the current arc (probably more like 6) and then a (relatively) short breather before the final arc, which only God and KA know how long it's going to be (and I doubt either is sure). And it's an 18-page manga. Compare FMA, at 40 pages, that they've had to slow down immensely to drop to a two chapters a week adaptation rate. The first several chapters of Negima are longer than the rest, but by the time they get around to the end of the Mahorafest Arc, they'll be blowing through 4 chapters a week, easy. That's unless they decide to pull a Bleach or DBZ, and either add filler or draw out individual episodes, neither of which usually goes over well with the audience.

I say give him another year, or at least until we get to the point where it looks like we're in the final arc, before we even think about wanting a full adaptation. I certainly want to see one eventually, because the way Akamatsu scripts action in multiple locations is just made for TV. He rivals, if not surpasses at times, FMA's Arakawa at that... And yes, while I like what Shaft has done with the property, within their obvious internal and external limits, I think Bones has proven over the last few weeks with FMA that they would be absolutely perfect to hand the adaptation to, when the time is right.

Don't know where else to put this.

In an ad for the Negima OAD's that will be appearing in next week's Shounen Magazine, it has been announced that Kana Asumi (Yuno from Hidamari Sketch) will be taking over the role of Ku Fei.

EDIT: Ken Akamatsu's online diary also confirms that the fourth OAD
Spoiler for manga:

That would be nice. I like Yue's magic-school arc. Plus it would mean we get to hear how well they did the voices for Collette and Emily.

Especially when you consider that their seiyuus also voice Ritsu and Azusa in K-On!, respectively.

Anyone have people they'd like to see (or rather 'hear') voice some of Fate's cronies in future OVAs or in the upcoming film? I'd like to hear 'Homura' voiced by Asami Sanada ('cause I'm getting a bit of a Vita vibe from her), and Dynamis voiced by Ken'yū Horiuchi ("sekai ni itami wo")

Definitely want Aya Hirano somewhere in this project as a way to finish off having all five regular seiyuu in Manabi Straight involved in Negima.

Wow I really like mahou shoujo yue. It is quite well-adapted with great animation quality, even for the fight sequence.

Yeah, it was pretty amazing. I particularly like the way the magic circle for the ice spears was done.
