sounds like they are gonna leave Asahina and Yuki"s voices in japanese meaning no english dub for them unless they just dont know who will do their voices yet and just added in two japanese girls into the trailer>>>

but i guess we all will not know anything about any DVD releases until some time>>>>
You are seriously reading too far into that video and jumping to conclusions that shouldn't be made.

but i"m even more surprised that Bandai got the distribution rights to this show
usually it would be big name companies like Funimation and ADV but it happens to be Bandai that got it
but it was super clever for them to do this kind of announcement through one internet site!!
Bandai's probably an even bigger company than the other two

No... "ASOS Brigade" is the (4th wall breaking) name of the group of Americans spreading excitement etcetctetc. The "SOS Brigade" is Kyon and all them.

None of the voices are final. I seriously doubt even Haruhi's would be the same. For this they had to consider looks as well, whereas for VAs it's just how they sound.

Timeline has been vastly expanded and modified to include events in novel volume 7.

Best guess for part of the final version:

Suzumiya Haruhi: Rosie O'Donnell

Kyon: Donald Trump

Asakura Ryoko: (Miss USA) Tara Conner

Asahina Mikuru: (Miss Nevada) Katie Rees

/ Come on Bandai!

It seems a few polls have been put up. The second one is probably the most unexpected thing I have ever seen.

If you're voting in the auditions:a, vote 1 or 2.

And obviously, vote 1 for the poll on front page. ^^

well its great to hear that those people in the "episode zero" of that trailer aren"t the "official" voice overs for this American release of this show!!

but the ASOS brigade myspace site being one of the top fifty viewed page to be viewed
that shows how much people worship Haruhi-ism!!

Number 2 is obviously Stephanie Sheh. The others I'm incapable of recognising.

It seems we're going to choose who's Mikuru's voice.

LOL. I laughed. Some of the voices there are like moaning. It felt weird. ._.

If my translation is correct, I think it's telling us that before we begin on choosing the best preferred voice when compared to the original, that for the best experience, that we should be sure to turn the volume up to get the full effect.

hmmm, wasn't *happy* with any of them (they all sounded like they were whining) but #2 was indeed the least painful. She sounded too much like the whiny actress that english-dubbed Aoi in AYA though (I wanted to strangle her). I actually like #4's timbre and pitch better but she couldn't act the lines at all.

Frankly, unless they actually go out and audition some new talent, I'll be in the 70+% listening to the japanese audio and subtitles anyway.

I actually thought #2 was quite good. I always found Mikuru's original voice to be extremely annoying anyway, so none of these are particularly offensive to my ears...

Actually the one you're referring to is Michelle Ruff, and she did #1. From what others said in the English Dub forum in AnimeOnDVD, #2 is Stephanie Sheh.

Those auditions were about as subtle as a Hentai Dub.

Something to keep in mind is the fact that most of the showcased dialogue will be in the background of the audio (if you listen to the JP sample, Haruhi and Kyon's voices are much more distinct than Mikuru's).

Number two for me, as well. Even she was just barely acceptable. Most of them suffer from overacting due to not being in-character. If more studios would do recording like anime studios in Japan and The Simpsons then I think we'd see a large improvement in the watchability of dubs.
