Total despair! None of the 6 I voted for made it. It's a really big shocker for me that the tournament will be without Rena and Mai. Rena has been always struggling in the upper half of the table and Mai has even participated in the play-offs. How come people could abandon them?! T_T

In retrospect, it's great to see how much preliminaries shook up the competition and made true strength necessary in entering the regular season. Girls like Nodoka (or much of the Saki girls, in fact) who would've otherwise gained a free ticket into regular season via last year's rules are filtered out, saving them from a painful experience in the main tournament (I wouldn't have pitied Nodoka one bit even if she did bad, but you get my point )
I guess there are just some like Mihoko that are unavoidable though....

"Would Yui have made the regular season through the preliminaries?"
lolol you can't be serious. "How would she have fared in the regular season if she made it? " Her future. Grim. Non-Saki > Koromo > Nodoka > Mihoko

Well, I wouldn't call her a clone but she has similarities in appearance, and her personality is kind of similar when Ritou doesn't force her into being a tsundere.
Definitely has one of the best character designs out there, though. Too bad she comes from a fail series.

I'm disappointed with the lineup this year....I went out of my way to look at the contenders, and this is what I came up with:
about 40% KyoAni (or roughly 20 members: Haruhi, K-ON!, Lucky Star, CLANNAD) 20% Studio DEEN (over half of which are from Seitokai no Ichizon) 20% J.C. Staff (comprised of mainly Hayate no Gotoku!, Railgun/Index, and Toradora!) 20% everyone else. Talk about lack of diversity much? Sad to see no Rozen Maiden, Yuuko from ef, and Koromo from Saki. If anything surprised me, it's the popularity of Sora no Otoshimono and Seitokai no Ichizon given how bad most anime were last year. In addition the fact that Ikaros won makes my mind boggle since as far as I'm concerned, Ikaros =/= moe, but more emo...Nymph I could see why though. For those who liked Ikaros, go back to 2002 and watch Saikano. Chise >>>> Ikaros in every way, including moe.
