Correction, the I.S. Cadet Rep of USA is Iris Calling, and her I.S. is [Fang Quake], now that clears things up.

And yes, there's more than one cadet rep for each country, but only one has the rights to use personal I.S., the best amongst them in certain factor (not always combat performance), for example Cecilia has highest [BT] unit aptitude, even though technically wise she's crippled in close combat.

Such as Ichika, the only guy, him not having I.S. is, in fact, RIDICULOUS. He's goldmine for both corporation and Japan as a whole, he has talent and connection backing him up.

(Said corporation even sacrifice the development of the Personal I.S. for the next Cadet Rep of Japan, Kanzashi, just so ByakuShiki can be completed)

And Houki getting her I.S. obviously from Tabane who can do as she please.

Maybe it can be justified that Fillia was there as Rong's escort/ handler.

But adding another Cadet Rep from USA with ANOTHER Personal I.S. is plain mind-blowing. Remember that Personal I.S., unless used for competition, is mostly testbed platform for new technology.

And Research of 'new technology' aren't cheap (BT type was so expensive entire Europe joined their effort funded it), hence one Personal, one sister unit was unwritten rule.

Technically, Japan doesn't have two IS'. Kanzashi's IS was scrapped in favor for his so they didn't make more than one; they just ditched the actual representative and gave it to the more popular albeit less experienced user.

Also, Fillia doesn't have a personal. Just a test unit I think.

Actually it was supposed to be the other way around.

Fillia was sent to IS academy under the pretext of learning to be a better IS pilot, which is half true. There are a lot of factors but mostly it's to save Rong is already in all sorts of trouble cause of the data he has on Astra Exodus. He's also still considered a terrorist so that's why his case is being considered for an execution despite him being a minor. Fillia agreed to the government suggestion to go to IS academy in exchange for Rong going with her and in effect saving his life(This is not what I meant when I said she saved him!).

Fillia is supposed to be one of the many hundreds of girls who've previously undergone IS testing and training. Somewhere at the top ten or twenty-five(not giving ranking for plot fix convenience' sake. She may not be directly next in line but she's still somewhere in the running.

can that work?

@eratas: Yeah, Arke-Progenita is a test unit for mass produced IS. I think a similar situation can be found with Laura and her Schwarzer Regen. Though to test the full capacity of Arke-Progenita as a test unit, the personalization and optimization functions were all disabled. So she's at factory settings with some special tuning by Rong.

@zero: The other USA rep is like Fillia, not really a rep, just someone who is recognized with a lot of potential to be one. She is the US military and IS research center's test pilot for the Astra Exodus while Rong was still locked up and or not in a state to help them. She is sent along with the Astra Exodus.

Tsurugi quickly switches position with Inami, holding him on top of her with her hands still clamped onto his shoulders.

“What are you...” He desperately asks as his mind is growing even more frantic from being placed in a very suggestive position.

“Forgive me, Ina-kun!”

Cecilia walks into the area and sees the couple, immediately shocked beyond words upon seeing them in their current positions. Awkward silence ensues as the trio goes silent.

“What… are you guys…doing?”

“W-w-w-w-we were—”

“Alcott-chan! H-help me out here… Inami-kun is trying to violate me!”

“What the… NO! She’s lying!” Inami anxiously retorts while trying to pull her hands off, struggling to free himself from her firm grip.

“iiiyaaaaaa~ He’s at it again! Get him, Alcott-chan!”

“GET YOUR HANDS OF—oh…” Inami yells but is promptly interrupted as he sees Cecilia’s rage aura quickly building up. Her eyes stares sharp into his soul as she dashes towards him.

Tsurugi releases her grip from his shoulders, leaving him to his imminent misfortune. Inami quickly stands up, rooted in fear as Cecilia closes in while partially deploying Blue Tear’s forearm.

“DROP DEAD, PERVERT!” She yells out in rage, channeling all her might to deliver an intense punch towards Inami.

‘…Well shoot.’

@ Demino_Hellsin - That kind of sounds like stockholm syndrome actually. Why would she get so attached to Rong after he kidnapped her in the first place? Most people would maybe defend someone who kidnapped them and had a chage of heart, but not spend a lot of their time making sure they stayed alive.

There's also Combat Optimized unit, in that it use much more refined technology to create a near-perfect I.S. without flaws, but the technology used in it is mostly what's left from previous generation.

Technically, Gospel has no sister unit, since it's already perfected in that way, but Americans planned to give it a new type of weapon, revert it back to Testbed Platform (albeit very strong one). Too bad Tabane basically put Gospel to comatose before those new perks can be implemented.

[Fang Quake] is a testbed platform for 'multiple boost' unit (Most, if not all units can only use Ignition Boost ONCE for each long interval because of the strain it caused), too bad ByakuShiki got the concept first by sheer miraculousness of Fold-Out Armor.

@eratas: Fillia has a personal reason(she wasn't all there when she made the request), and the time she spent with Rong is significant(not shoujo romance time D. But yeah, you could say it's stockholm syndrome.

@zero: *shrug* It's america, they do what they do. Plus Arke-Progenita isn't too radical. All its weapons and special functions are taken from battledata of existing units. Scwarzer Regens AIC is reverse engineered to Active Inertia Amplifier and the Rafael Revive's specialization in carrying multiple equalizer is changed to carrying whole load outs, in the form of the dress system, in each equalizer slot than just a single weapon.

Kanzashi's personal I.S. isn't canceled in favor of ByakuShiki's completion, DELAYED was the exact word used.

Uchigane Mk.II is just a stopgap measure so they can develop the Image-Interface controlled missile system before the REAL test platform rolled out.

Delayed despite the fact that Byaku-shiki's complete and it can't accept new gear? I think they just ditched her in favor of Ichika.

Why Tabane even care? The fact that White Knight Incident cost no live is borderline miraculous! Were talking about destruction of 2000+ ballistic missile and a shitload of naval force here.

EDIT: Natasha is UNCONSCIOUS, that's what kicked the AI to take control of Gospel, Tabane tampered with said AI and made it berserk.

Indeed, that's exactly what happened, priority put on Ichika > Kanzashi, just like that. They JSUT started to put their Project related to Kanzashi very recently...

About Equalizer:

Weapon Equalizer can be switch quickly in battle but a Package is not something that can be switch easily on the field and actually take some time to install into the IS (because lots of equalizers involved?).

The only one that can switch is the Rafael Revive, and that's only because it had it's main equipment replaced with all the equalizers.
